when i first started skating i built a 2 foot high kicker which was way to steep for any one to do anything off so we sold it to a bmxer for £10.

I really want it back now though because it was really well made and i think i would actually be able to get some height off it.

I dont really know what the perfect height is cuz it depends on how good the skater is.

thats why i said "ideal", so i could some up the average height/size that everyone liked and out it into an average, but if the average was too small, i'd probably make a 2-2 1/2ft kicker

mine is 2 feet and i like it like that because where i skate you have little space to get speed and the steep ness of a 2 foot kiker gives you enough speed!

it depends how long the kicker is. 3 feet wouldnt be too steep if it was four feet long(i think). how long do you plan on it being?

well, my old one was 10" high and 3ft long, so, if i made it 2ft high, then i would make it 3 ft long again

The whole Idea of a kicker isn't to be vertical and straight...so you don't want it to steep. My ideal kicker would be just about 1 1/2 feet...because if you angle it correctly, you'll get PLENTY of air, as long as you ollie. Off a 1 1/2 ft kicker, you could 360..180..do grabs, flips, flips with spins, etc. Going to the 3ft range isn't needed, because if the ramp is 3 ft tall, by the time you get to the top of it, your speed would have dropped dramatically, and therefore ruining the launch. You could make it 2+ ft..but you go build a 3 ft launch ramp. I'll build a 1 1/2 ft one...we'll see who gets the most air, and smoothest launch.

If a ramp is 3 ft tall, and 4 feet long, it's to steep....That'd be very steep. I attached a picture of what that'd look like. It's not perfectly accurate, but very close. If you made it 5 feet long, it'd be good...but I wouldn't consider it a kicker anymore.

The general rule of thumb for getting the most out of your ramps is if you build a ramp 12" tall, make it a foot longer, maybe more. A kicker that is 12" tall and 20" long is no good, obviously.

I'd prolly make it like 3 1/2 ft long...to 4 ft long..it'd be perfect.

thanks, and i can get plenty of speed too, so speeds not an issue

we build a kicker/flatbank every summer with my ,mate dave
we have itabout 2 fot high and it is much to high to get air and to get tricks to fakie on it anyway we have never attempted to make a big transition kicker but i think i am gonna make one this time our kickers always either fall apart or they break (by us :) ) or some other kjind of thing happens to them, we somrtimes have little comps and once this girl fell over and a bird shitted on her lolololol it was really funny and you had to be there really, we have never really hurt ourselves bad on one but this year will be different. muhahahaha

we have found this one that looks pretty kool that we dont have to make from our local argos and my mate matt might buy one it is a bmxer ramp and it is made out of hard plasticy shit and it looks quite high and nice to skate i think i might have to buy one but then again summer is coming hmmmm oh well i will stop my rambling

Me and some friend just build a good size kicker, its a bit steep, but if you have speed you'll go flying. Its:
44 in long
2 feet wide
and
1'4 high

good luck:D
