Okay this is really starting to bother me. About a month ago I started skating and I have been skating a lot of spots around my neighbourhood like my school, carparks, the mall and just any gaps that look cool. But last weekend me and my friend went up to the skatepark and thought everyone would be chill and we could just hangout. But instead we got so much shit everytime we didn't land a trick, and these idiots were dissing our boards saying "GET AN ELEMENT OR CANT YOU AFFORD THEM? HAHA" Then a whole bunch showed up and (apparantly) they wanted to 'sort us out' so I just gave em' the finger, they started chasing us, and we ran. This isn't what skating is about? People judging you on what gear you have and making fun of people who can't land a trick...They were going real bad on my friend too, he's been skating for about 2 weeks and he can only really ollie a little bit. I would've knocked em' down but there were about 9 of them so...:\ First time I been to a park too! Thats not very encouraging! Whatever, this isn't gonna stop me. I'll go back tomorrow and see how it is. I just wanna know do people get this at all?

The sk8 park I go to (688 in Largo, Florida) is real chill. I have never seen anyone "diss" anybody because of equiptment or skills. I have been sk8'n for over 25 years, and have seen stuff like that before, usualy doesn't happen again. I think you just found a group of Aholes. I like your attitude about going back, but the finger might have gotten you in more trouble than it was worth LOL. Just keep at it, get better than they are, and show them all up :) .

yeah thats not cool. some people do that, but everyone had to start somewhere, and i doubt they started by tre flipping 8 stairs. theres always gonna be people that are worse than you and theres always gonna be people that are better than you (unless your koston, but even then theres people that are better at hardflips than him). just continue to skate and don't worry about them. and remember this experience so that when you get better you'll remember not to do this to other beginners at the park.

Those people probably can't skate to begin with. At my skatepark there is this one fag who talks shit about all the kids that are just learning how to skate. He probably couldn't do a kickflip to save his life. He started to talk shit about me because I was landing some of my tricks kinda sketchy so we played a game of skate. I didn't even get a letter, that pretty much shut him up.

About kids ridiculing your gear, I've never experienced that. But when it comes down to it, it doesn't matter if you have the latest shoes, best board money can buy, or the clothing everybody thinks is cool, it just matters that you skate for the love.

My experience at my skate park was completely different, everyone helped me (because I just got a new Element board that's wheels actually moved, damn walmart board) learn how to drop in.. It was awesome!

don't take that beat the shit out of them and then skate the park. i had that problom i just beat the shit out of them (5 guys vs 2 guys)and now me get first skate then next they where like 5' 6'' and we where 4' 8'' but still beat them. we don't skate there anymore because of drug busts and stabings so we said screw that i don't want to get stabedby a bum :-9: where not very happy because thats the only skate park in salem besides going to kiazer and bust our face in on the bowls there. warped ah damn

Like, when I was first trying to land K-flips, I came down on my tail bad, and fell right on my ass. That got me a few "Get out of here *****" comments, and "You suck" insults. But, two months later I was landing them smooth. It's all about not letting their bullshit get to ya. They'll probably be off of Skating once it's out of "Style." They're what you call Anti-Lifers. =P

i actually think that the people that only ride element boards, cloathes, beanies, and just write element on their folder to be a skater are more *****s. it seems that everyone wants to be bam margera. he is stupid and is boring he just messes with vito, dont worry about those dudes, their just not stable with themselves and need to pik on peole to feel popular. just keep getting better. i remember my 1st time at a park. you just have to go to please yourself not others, theres alot of jerks out there you just need to b confident in what you are.
