From my understanding it was when your board does half of a backflip and then half of a kickflip, and travels between your legs. Is this correct. This sounds similar to a F/S flip. Depends on your style, but I have done a F/S flip where I did what was described above, and a 180 with it, and I have also done like a 90 degree kickflip, caught, and finished rotating. I have also done that trick above. I thought it was a hardflip but I got confused with some people talking about inward kickflips being hardflips and such. Sorry if this is a lame question.

the kind of fs flip that goes between your legs like that.. is ugly. i hate those.

anyway.. technically what a hardflip is, is a frontside shove it kickflip. a varial flip is that, but its backside. its just that its hard to do a hardflip where the shove it part stays flat, so they tend to be closer to doing that vertical half backflip thing you were talking about, but thats not what makes it a hardflip.

its a fs flip without your body turning the 180 too.. thats another way to think of it.

... A hardflip is when your board rockets between your legs, then flips the other half way.

no.

straight foreward, a hardflip IS a fs variaflip. fs shove it with a kickflip. frontside flip without turning the 180 with your body too.

its not a flip between your legs or a half backflip half kickflip or whatever. but it can look like that.. its just not what MAKES it a hardflip.
