i was looking at this cam and it doesnt have a thread size so you cant put a lense on it it says it captures widescreen video on the standard lens does it make that much of a difference with a fisheye

yes because all the 'widescreen' features on cameras other then a xl2 are fake widescreens, its just black space put over the video. video is actually very wide (max of 180*) most high quality fisheyes are 172* and adds a very distorted look to it.
