well i was reading this months skateboard mag and this element add caught my eye everyone knows the element featherlight well these dumbasses created the helium featherlight and the first pro to skate this shit is the new pro brent atchley here is how the board is made
element skateboards is proud to introduce helium a new innovative skateboard construction. helium skateboard construction features patented air-frame chamers builts inside the deck that add strength while drastically decreaseing weight. each of five airframe chambers within the board is hollowed meaning less wood is used resulting in lighted skateboard deck element skateboards has ever released. while weight is significantly reduced the shape of the air frame is engineerd to actually increase stregth of the board by distributing the normal stress from skateboarding equality throughout the board . helium boards are manufactured with traditional US hard rock maple guaranteed to perform and respond just like element featherlightboards. helim is the next step in the constant progression in skateboard design that element skateboards is commited to....
now some of my thoughts to this...
1)this pro is gonna wish that he never went element with the shit ass board they give him.
2)eyah strong my ass with 5 holes in this thing i would snap it like the twig the made it from in one single ollie
3)no shit sherlock its gonna be light with 5 holes in it
4)correct me if im wrong but arnt all good boards made from canadian maple instead of us maple
now this is some dumbass shit element came up with but hey *****s know element and they are gonna skate element til they arent *****s ne more

You were reading Transworld right yeah saw it too in the April issue last month. Anyway why didn't they just go with a Helium Fiberlight deck? Anyway so what's lighter the Helium Featherlight deck or a Fiberlight deck?

it doesnt matter.
when lighter is taken to the extreme where some weirdo technology is added, its going to be crap.
skateboards are wood. theyre made to be wood. theyre best when theyre wood.
not space.
thats like saying "dude, i heard air is really strong."

yeah looks pretty weird on the cross cut. i doubt its stronger. and i don't really see a reason why decks would need to be any lighter. its not like people really have a problem bringing them off the ground. i think any lighter just feels weird, not really better, i want my board to feel solid too. someone buy one of these and tell us what you think. i liked that article in the new transworld comparing all the high tech new board designs. the new santa cruz deck actually bullet proof? what the ****? i think the black label deck with their "power-beam" will be one of the strongest, i think it'll be stronger than blind's resine-v, sounds like a good idea to have the vertical middle ply, but i think the black label's will be bettter because of the wider middle plys.
i'm only really interested in the black label deck and the new foundation deck.

Because it's irritating. You already (or should) know that weight doesn't matter, so whats the point of still asking?

hahahahhahahahahhaha.
Do you really think Brent Acthley cares if the board is good or not. As long as he gets paid. Its not like he skates featherlights. He probably skates regular boards shipped from element. Element is not going to give him some shitty ass gimmick to skate. He is going to get quality made skateboards. It is just like all the other brands, consumers get shitty ass boards, while the pros get top notch ones made specially for them.

Also even if he does get those stupid boards, if he breaks one its not like he doesn't have 10 in his trunk.

I never got why us skateboarders need light-ness. I BMX too, that is what you need light-ness for. I just look at people funny when they say "You have a light deck". Who the **** cares, does the pound or two make that much of a difference? Not to me.

Its simple, the lighter the deck is, the easier it is to pop and flip. But only pussies need the boards to be lighter. Skating with regular decks makes your legs stronger, and makes you a man.

I know that. I have strong legs, so if I have a heavy deck or light deck, it doesn't matter. If I skate a deck for 2 days, I'm gonna be able to do the same thing with any other deck I've had. You have to have really weak legs to need light decks.

Sounds like it would break in a second.
One of my first real boards was a BAM Element. I hadnt really skated any other 'real' boards so i didnt know how crappy it was. I was considering getting an element fiberlite but i was convinced to get popwar instead. Now that i got my popwar, i can see what everyone meant. Element does suck.

hmm.... anyone ever held a helium balloon? letting a FULLy filled helium balloon up against a Scale makes the balloons weight 2grams less than an empty balloon. the "helium shit(light) construction" obviously has LESS helium than a helium balloon, (its only in 3 ply's in 5 holes through the middle) so less than 2 grams of weight is lost; WOW. n plus they say its stronger;hollow decks are stronger now? mayb for hitting ppl with, but for skateboarding? I Dont Think So. how the hell do they expect ppl to believe that the HElium construction is "the future"? the things gonna loose pop or snap in less than 2 weeks, and when it does snap, ppl will weigh it n c no difference ^o)

thats because sometimes they have to if they break their board.. like whoever theyre skating with.
for example, rowley had a baker board in an ad, cause his broke, so he borrowed one from whichever baker dude he was with.

My friend had a helium board , it was pretty weird to ride on. The pop was decent but the board felt like i was riding a 2x4 and the individual ply's were thicker than the normal 7ply's. Only problem with it would be when it gets razor tail and the holes start showing later on. And seeing rowley skate a baker isnt that big of a deal, pro's usually skate any deck they get from their major supplier like blitz.

The lighter the board, the weaker it is, and the more shitty it is.
Don't bother with element.
