No there's no secret to any trick just a key to unlock the door: the key is called the key of practise,
they took me quite a while to learn them but I've had them hooked for some time so I'll tell you how to do them,
place your back foot on the tail like for an ollie but slightly more angled so that your heel is coming abit closer towards your front foot and have your front foot pointing forwards in the middle of the board (slightly bit more forwards than the middle), (so have your front foot like a kickflip but abit more pointed upwards and place your front foot near to the middle of your board),
ok, this is the great part:
have your shoulders inline with your board and feel relaxed and comfortable with the positioning of your feet, think of doing a fs 180 ollie but just as your doing so start turning your bodie and flip your foot of the edge of your board), well best advice really dude is to practise it, try smithandfeeble.com or 247sk8mag.com for trick tips on the Fs Flip,

f/s flip - 180 kickflip
Hardflip - Board does half a backflips and then half a kickflip under your feet - you land on it

I'll try to explain the way my friend does his FS Flips, they might help you. When he pops, he starts spinning the 180 and flipping the kickflip, but he does the flip faster than the spin, so he catches the kickflip at about 90 degrees, and then finishes the other 90 degrees like a 180 ollie.
