Hi,
I would like to buy a new 37mm fisheye but i am stuck for what to buy.
I already have the Raynox clip on fisheye and i think it is shit. I am thinking about buying a Kenko SGW-043 fisheye or the Century Baby Death but thats if i can find a cheaper enough baby death. But I am unsure about what the picture on the camera would look like. So i was wondering if anyone could post up any pictures of any of these lenses in use on the camera.
Please help me I am sick of that shitty raynox fisheye.
Thanks Harvey

The baby death is a very nice fisheye. I would go for that, the kenko is decent but no where as good as the baby death.
Uhh.. I know where some footage is, I'll post it later

Thanks for that, i think i am going to get the kenko fisheye because it is so much cheaper than the baby death. I found a place in the UK that sells it for £20 so i think i will get it from there, it is http://www.clselectronicstore.co.uk/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=192
Thanks for the help.

Can I ask what the spacers do when you put them on your camera, also do you put them on the camera thread or the lens thread?
Thanks

Well, I'm just starting out filming so I don't know all questions but

the people on the forums know everything.

spacers space the lens form the camera so u could get more distortion from the lens

oh right, i might get some because i have just recieved the lens and i love it, i also like that i have got a bit on vignetting but i would like a bit more, what spacers would be best to get, should i get sum that fits onto the step up ring or that fits straight onto the camera (25mm for my camcorder)? Also do you know where i can get them from and if possible where to get them from in the UK.
Thanks HarvJH

um i couldnt find any but,, if ur lens has adapter rings to fit on ur camera, divide the dapter size into two so u could space it with two adapters insteads of one thus solving ur problem

I have found a place that do the spacers but they are quite expensive at £5.50 or $10, but i will keep looking around just incase i can find some other ones.
Thanks

Because it is the same price as the spacers i founds, could you do it with filters? And take the glass out of the filters?

it be easyer with the lense adapters but spacers are supreme

Can you take the glass out of filters?
If so how?
Thanks

LOL, i got the filters the other day and they made hardly any different to the picture and the vignetting. So i had a look around in my room and found a 30mm-37mm step up ring so i order a step down ring from 37mm-30mm so i could use them as spacers.

good idea but u better have a light lens cause all that shit might snap ur lens right off,,,, its happend
casanova

its not heavy enough to snap it off, and also lenses only snapp off randomy if you have a camera with a barrel in the front for the focusing ring. if it was a vx1000 with a raynox qcd or whatever pro fisheye then it would cause they weight like 4-5 pounds i hear

04-28-2006, 07:05 PM
Oh right ok then, well that has made me feel better because i was a bit worried about my camera. Well i have a kenko fisheye and that don't weight a lot.

then it probably wasnt screwed on completely or correctly, or you hit something first. but seriously you dont want vignetting, that just makes it look like shit, and it may be too wide enough that the tv doesnt cut out the vignetting.
HarvJH
04-28-2006, 11:39 PM
Well i can't use my fisheye without the vignetting because i use a step up ring and even with just the 1 ring there is vignetting so either way i am gonna have it.

no it was this stupid lens close/open thing, filter, step up, + lens. the close/open thin snapped. but now i can screw it in directly.
