I own a paintball/ skateboard supply shop and my main focus was supposed to be paintball. Well to my suprise I can't keep the skateboarding stuff on the wall but I don't really know jack about it. So people kept asking me to sponsor them and I've always said just bring em a vid (well over half the kids never do it).
Now I dont know much about skating but this kid impressed me. I dont remember the names off all the stuff he did but he ollied 12 stairs (which I dont know if thats good but apprently he's the only guy in town that can do it). I really dont know much about skateboarding but I thought it was good and he has an excellent reputation so today I gave him a complete. And told him anytime you need anything let me know (he also does quite a bit for me & I give him everything he needs now: shoes, decks, etc) Did I do the right thing? I'll post his vid up once he finishes it.

sounds like your a cool guy and you guys are off to a good start. if he impresses you, has a good style can do some stuff most others can't then it sounds like he's a good guy to have on the team reppin your shop and its good that your hookin him up with whatever he needs. i can't wait to see the vid, where are you guys located at? also if you have others commin in looking for sponsorship tell them to bring in a tape and then have the guy you sponsored look it over with you because if he's actually pretty good (which 12's are no small thing, i know from experiance) then he'll be able to tell a good skater from a bad and be a little more in depth with his knowledge of trick difficulty and whatnot. sounds good and if your lookin for some more skate stuff to put on the walls then check out www.fightskateboards.com and shoot dan (the owner) an e-mail through the dealer inquiries section, the decks kick ass. help the little deck companies out and they'll help out your little local shop :-2: .

thanks for the input & I'll be sure to get ahold of Dan either this week or next. Zach said he'll have his video ready for me by the end of the month. I'm taking him to a competition this weekend and he wants to get footage of that on there. I'll get the videos up pretty soon. He came by the shop yesterday and was showing me some stuff. I noticed they do little competions on the video section like highest ollie and stuff. Would I be able to post him ollieing the 12 stair on there? or is that like a different type of ollie? I know he can also do like 6 or 7 decks should I post that one instead? I'm pretty new to this stuff but I want to help get his name out there as much as possible. Oh and btw were located in DeSoto, MO. Population 6250 :-2:

cool, i can't wait to see the video. and about the contests, anything is fair game as far as i know. there were an entry or two off of drops and gaps and then some flatground ollie entries too. i interpereted it as highest flatground ollie, as in the height you can get from your ollie, not the highest thing you can ollie off of, but really its whatever you wanna post, check out some of the other entries and decide from there.
