When i do manuels i put my back food right in the concave of the tail with the center of my foot a centimeter or two back towards the tail. My front foot i put on top of the bolt or sometimes half and inch behind the bolts.

you soo not funny...i put my foot directly on the back trucks and just put my whole body wieght towards the back...i found it requires less balancing. just the ocasional flinch
