Boardslide help

[H-town sk8]

Whenever I try to boardslide my board either flips a half or whole kickflip, or my front doesnt go on the board and my back foot pops the board up so it hits me in the nuts. I think im just scared, but any tips?

Edit: Im trying this on about an 8 inch flatbar

part of it is definetly being scared...i rate you pop harder.

dont put the nose over and bring the tail up...do it all in the 90...if i can call it that..
