I know a lot of people like to rip on 'pop-punk' and stuff....but come on. Music is music people, listen to what you like, and if you don't like it, let other people enjoy it. Why rip on someting someone else enjoys? Either way, I think I'd lean towards Blink 182 on this one. To me, they both have a complete different sound, so it's tough for me to compare them in the first place.

Green Day and blink-182 are both great bands. Green Day has contributed to the making of a lot more bands though, and have gotten many people into punk in the first place.:)

You need to learn to respect people's taste in music. Honestly, I couldn't give a damn who's "punk" and so on, they're people dude..who gives a shit how they dress or act. We are not judging their style in this thread, we're judging MUSIC. We would anyone want to be so critical of a band, just shut the hell up, and listen to their music, brother!

That's exactly what I'm thinking, but I never said you had to like it, just respect it. Just as in the way we look, we all differ greatly on the inside, causing some people to like classical for whatever reason, or heavy metal..

Thats the problem with people these days, they're so ignorent that they won't even try listening to something else. I'm not saying replacing the thing you listen normally, just add to your collection of music with different types.

Exactly. I used to say 'I'm into Alternative..'...and that's ALL I would listen to. I wouldn't even try one new mp3 of a band I hadn't heard of...my ignorant days. Now, I'm into anything..although I'm mostly into pop-punk, ska...I still try new things on a weekly basis..it's great..lots of great bands you haven't heard of..

^i used to do that myself mike. with th ignorance and all, but now i like mostly everything. MOSTLY....kids how about we leave it as this..music is music. is was get back in the day. there was Rock N' Roll and uhh not rock and roll...bands didnt label themselves as pnk or whatnot. one of the greatest "punk" bands ever, never once called themselves punk they always calledthemelves rock. The Ramones. One of the most influencial bands ever. the influenced all the "punk" you listen to today, whether you think it did or not, the "pop-punk" "punk" "harcore-punk" blah blah blah... the point is.
