ok this is gonna sound REALLY STUPID....but I cant drop in :-11: ...I have tried and whenever I do I like...either fall forward on my face OR I slip back do a manual down the quarter pipe and jump off my board....this is becoming a real problem...Im doing everythign right....I lean forward and slam the front down...but I fall off half way down the Q pipe......but the dumbest thing is that i can 50-50 the Q pipe coping when coming up,..but I cant drop in I dont know if its a fear thing or what,,,but anyone have any advice :-12:

um well i never had problems dropping in. i did it first try. but when you drop in, bend your knees so if you do fall, it wont be as bad. and just learn foward and that should do it

slam down your front foot over the front bolts but while doing it you must put more of your weight onto your back foot that is on the tail otherwise you will fall forward, and not slamming makes you fall back.

i wouldent overcomplicate it. just press down fast on the truckbolts and roll down,i did it first try,its common sense, keep SOME weight on your back foot but some on your front too. easy.

Just lean forward, keeping a little weight on your back foot. Think of it like riding down a hill, your body has to be perpendicular to the board.
I do kind of have your problem though. I can easily go down a 12 foot straight ramp...

(What are They like launches or Kickers?)
But for some reason, Im too scared to even try these curved QPs:

I'm pretty sure me and you just have commitment problems.

Okay.
Put your tail on the coping, obviously, then put your front foot a tiny bit above your front trucks. (I mean the nail things.) DO NOT HESITATE OR YOU WILL FALL. Next, lean foward slightly and just nail your front foot down, 90% of your weight on the front and 10% on your back. If you don't, you'll manual and the board will fly out. When you're going down, even out your weight and balance the board according to the degrees the ramp is. Remember, DON'T HESITATE.
And DON'T HESITATE.
I would start with a mini first, then move up to your 10's.
Good luck bro.

When I first tried dropping in I manualed down it but I didn't fall. So once I went down it, I wasn't scared anymore and I tried again and I did it. But, it was kinda weird because I was really scared to go down and I wasn't planning on dropping in but I accidently leaned forward a little too much and I went down it. It was a three foot quarter-pipe. It is all about commitment. When you are about to drop in, put your front foot on your front bolts(at least that is where I put my front foot) and lean forward. Don't be scared, just do it and if you still can't do it after trying just keep practicing and you will eventually get it. And, again, as China Skate said, DO NOT HESITATE OR YOU WILL FALL.

I had to go down a 8 foot the first time I dropped in. It actually was a dare from one of my friends. But yeah, I would've dropped a mini or something first.

No, but there's a half pipe that's like 10 feet high in an indoor skate park near me. It probably isn't for dropping in though. (no way to get to the top and about 5 feet of vert).

ive got one near me too,its hard but i can get to the top. it has inward vert, seriously. it was built in the early 90s by some skaters who were pissed that we werent getting skateparks in scotland. they had no idea what they were doing. it actually curves inwards before it goes out. never dropped it. i might later.oh and btw,its made of freakin fiberglass.in then straight before finally going out is a good explanation of the vert on it...

It's not that hard to drop in. I learned it in like 10 or 20 minutes.

I learned in about 5 minutes after falling on my ass. It's just commitment, and then it becomes second nature. Make sure that you have your front foot on the board BEFORE you lean forward, and try to have it over the front bolts. Then just lean forward. If you're not comfortable dropping in, you could do what I did. I used to slap my board down really hard on the pipe so that I'd hear the front wheels touch it, and I know I'd be safe. After I got more comfortable, I stopped doing that and my drop ins are almost soundless.
Um. Can someone ban spitfire? Sorry, it's just that he's full of shit.

I did it first try, didnt hesitate on any of the ramps cept the 8,and even then it took me like 5 mins. dropped in switch for the first time last week, didnt even hesitate, just did it. that wasnt boasting,im just trying to emphasize the fact that if you stay up there too long your gonna spook yourself and pussy out.

yeah its all leaning forward but remember to lean forward enough,im still scared of the 8ft at my local even though i can drop it and i force myself to drop it regularly so i dont lose my nerve. and what happened today was scary, i leaned forward to drop in and i didnt lean forward enough and i manualed down a freakin vert wall before finally levelling out. i sorted it out but it was scary as hell, and by the way ,COMMIT like cryptic says. because i was teaching a girl to drop in today and when she finally attempted it she didnt commit, she leaned back a little too much and fell.
