View Full Version : mod's jumping too quickly

Not trying to moan and complain about stuff...but somedays it seems like Mods are doing their job a little too well. Like the greenday/blink post (not trying to accuse anyone, and sorry Mrock, im just using it as an example!) while reading that I thought up this really clever thing to say about both bands, and too people, and then I found out it was closed, without EVER getting to voice my opinion about it. I didn't even see what was going wrong in that post, just because some people were having a little disagreement about bands, big whoopdido, it happens every day, but people can't walk around in everyday life and say..."Oh this topic is closed, theirs a disagreement about it!". It's actually better sometimes for people to stand up for what they like, it gives me a sense of reassurance. Makes me feel like I actually belong somewhere in this world (I don't know how, it just does).

Another example of mods getting a little out of hand in the closing of the topics was the "girl" topic that was created so long ago. I think I remember blind saying that the topic wasn't going anywhere, and that it was turning into a "pictures of yourself" thread. Isn't that what the thread opener asked for, pictures of girls. Never one did I see a guy post a picture of himself, so wasn't the thread staying somewhat on topic. Nobody had even replied to that post in days when he had closed it, he just decided to bring it up once again and close it (sorry Blind, I'm just using this as an example, no hard feelings meant).

I will agree that the mods are doing a great job of keepings things in order around here since I haven't see Ramprage in days, but try to keep the threads open just for a little while longer, and let everyone who wants to voice their opinion.

Again, no hard feelings are meant to the Mods I used in here, I was just a little frustrated and aggrivated when I saw that the greenday/blink one was closed.

Yeah i totally agree with snowboarderbob14 but hey guess that just depends on the kind of people that are mods some people might find somethings like useless other might not but who cares if i was a mod i wouldn't close any thread cause i don't really pay attention to things hehehe that's why i'm dumb

Jumping to quickly? This may be a thread to get out of hand now. Did you know, that is the FIRST thread I have closed in...OVER a month..almost 2 months, perhaps. Why? If you'd like my reasoning, I'd be glad to explain.

One person says 'this band is best, this one sucks'...the people that like the other band become offended, and reply..we saw that. I then replied, and closed it, before a fight could break out. Do you really think it would be a better thread if more people replied with things such as '**** you, blink rulz'..or '**** you, green day rocks'..?? Probably not, and that is where it was going. I understand, since I'm a moderator, I'm seen as some unfair power hungry person behind a fancy computer desk, and that my opinion, and reasoning means nothing to any members..but I have learned to accept that, and I do not expect anyone to understand with me...hasn't happened yet. I've seen plenty of 'hate mod' posts...and I have been more than fair in my eyes, so do you all want me to be some pissed off moderator? If you do, just tell me, and I will start going nuts deleting posts' for no reason, and warning people for dumb things...because It's either nice-mrock...or mean-as-hell mrock...and obviously no one likes the nice version of me, maybe I should change....

Either way, instead of filling the forums with 'we hate you mrock' threads, please direct all hate mail to mike@physicalhazard.com .

God Damn...cant everyone just leave the moderators alone, they are just normal people not bloody magicians...(exept Mike lol) c'mon just let them be, i respect everyones post here but does it really matter, i agree with snoboarder bob to some extent but then with Mrock more, i wish everone could just get along with each other

Mike I was just pointing something out, you don't have to get all pissy about it. You were practically trying to shelter people from getting in a fight instead of letting them stand up for themselves, and in my faiths, morals, whatever it is I find that wrong. It also wasn't all your fault though, maybe if people were mature enough to find that swearing doesn't get you anywhere especially when *** replaces it, it'd be alot more effective and mod-friendly if you didn't use swear words, and if you accepted the fact that people think differently then you!

You honestly think, I think 'everyone thinks like me'??? If you do..you're mistaken. I said it in my last post, I don't expect anyone to understand me..since no one has yet. And once again, the swearing..it's not like we freakin' go through every post, censoring it...it's automatic...I love how people make it seem like 'the moderators are the one with that idea'..

As for 'standing up for themselves'. I don't call 'blink sux' standing up for themselves, I call it trying to piss off other people. Regardless, I've accepted the fact that no one likes me. And once again, everyone seems to hate the nice me, so the only way I can please them, is to change..and if you want me to, I'm more than glad to...

And you may have been pointing something out, but I can only take so much of the 'hate mrock' threads, till my defensive side comes out..with all this hate, do you expect me to just chill out, honestly? You know, I woke up yesterday, checked e-mail...found this post. My day was spent searching for more hate, or 'complaint' threads. I woke up today, not a bad day, went to a few stores, came back, got online, and voila, day ruined again. You have no clue what that shit does to you after a while...you can only be nice to people for so long, and I am not talking about all ramprage members, I am talking about the ones that all of a sudden, have so many problems with ramprage. Hell, if it'd make you happy, I'll "resign"...what would I be losing, really? I'd be losing all of that critism which I so dearly love, all of the people who fight over no reason...so why don't I just quit? Because the good members, and the fact I get to post on ramprage, makes it worth it. I get a kick out of just posting...bad mrock. As can see from my 600 something posts', I am a serious ****ing moron, right?

COME ON! you think that its fine to pick on the mods for what they have to do! you say they snap but seriously i can't help to believe mike when he says that he can only take so much crap before he has to start defending himself, i am pissed looking at this post and i haven't even been mentioned, come on guys..... would you not be a little defensive if suddenly hate "snowboarderbob" and hate"flipboy" and hate "sk8erpsycho" threads began popping up for "no reason"? COME ON!!!!! ok before i start getting really pissed im gonna stop talking but so help my God if i see one more thread like this......

Unforantally, I haven't been RR for the past night to see this. I know you said no hard feelings...."Another example of mods getting a little out of hand in the closing of the topics was the "girl" topic that was created so long ago. I think I remember blind saying that the topic wasn't going anywhere, and that it was turning into a "pictures of yourself" thread. Isn't that what the thread opener asked for, pictures of girls. I saw Snakers pics, yes, didn't mind that. But there was useless posts in there(including one of mine), so I decided to close it so it didn't become out of hand or as you said it not hurt anyone's feelings.

Personally, I let the grren-day / blink thread open, and didn't have a problem with it. But Mike, on the other hand, did, which resulted in it being closed. That is his judgement and his alone.

If you wanted us to get 'out of hand', we could close every useless thread, anything with cussing, ect. But we don't, what if we use bad judgement, or judgement that the other members don't like, we get bitched out for it. Everytime we don't let something slide we are bitched out for it, how do you think that would honestly feel? The reason Mike is so pissy about it, is because we have people telling us we're too strict on things, ect. And when one after another thing comes up about us doing our job.

I have been bitched out now 5 times in 2 weeks, for doing one thing that a member hasn't liked, which, is my job as a moderator. As for Mike saying he'd resign if it'd make you happy, I would also gladly do that if it would make you all more happy with these forums.

Which brings me to another I've had on my mind lately...it seems like if we let a ton of things slide, people hate us. If we DON'T let things slide, people hate us. Why don't you just make a list of how we should act...seeing as obviously, non-moderators are the experts on the subject, not us.

And the good members, now, more than ever, I appreciate, because they're going along their business, continuing to post...I applaud them for that. I consider every member a good member, until they earn the title 'bad member'..luckily, not many have done that...

well i guess that leaves this thread at Mods: 1 Angry members : 0, and that ends this thread i guess, you could argue back but then this thread (with reason) would also get closed, thank you for visiting mods jumping too quickly, hope you enjoyed the stay and please visit again later

i have an idea... how bout every1 who has a problem with mods think about what they have to.. its not all fun and games... think if u could handle it..

then think of what the forums would be without the great mods we have - TOTAL chaos... it would drive every1 mad. every1 would get out of hand, the forums would be a mess, people wouldnt handle it. it wouldnt even be close to what ramprage is.

here we have this great site and people seem to have problems with the heart and soul of the site. u should feel ashamed. the mods and ramprage (along with some members) keep this site together, and u r bitchin at them for tryin to make it so u guys enjoy it.

and still u bitch. without thjem, ramprage wouldnt be enjoyable for anyone. so next time, think before u speak.

We were ALL bad lol, there was about 5 good members that didnt spam,Mods lol they were like the biggest thing since sliced bread, everyone thought you had to get 700 posts to be one lol, including me, it was all abiut having fun back then though, i think everyone should just leave the moderators alone, yeh maybe they do make mistakes BUT they are not perfect...no one is and i would like to see any complaining Member take on for one Mrock's responsibility, its not easy believe you me.

Please dont judge the Moderators as some high ass authority they are regular skaters just being a bit more helpful and trying not to make this place go into a complete shit hole...can i say any more??>.. no please leave it be
