hey, what happens when you guys get caught street skating by the cops?here,if they catch you 2 or 3 times in the same night,and they catch you again they arrest you or send you to juvy.usually they jut tell you to leave, then we go back a few minutes later...lol

i cant believe the cops pull you over for skatin over here the cops dont even tell us off even if we are skatin private property(schools) we just say the care taker said we could. I cant believe they say anything to you for just skatin the streets. you wanna come over here ,if its really that bad, you would love it here.

The only time i have ever got moved on is when these cops were watchin a local school because vandals had but benches down the stairs(for some reason..... lol) for the past two days and they said we didnt look like trouble makers so it cudnt be us and just said id skate sumwhere else because theres some dangerous ppl who cum over here this time of night.

cops dont really care in my town because there isnt really anything to skate, besides the school which isnt that much and is on the other sie of town so ya can't really skate to it, unless my dad gets pissed at me(he's a cop) then he goes up behind me really slow and honks his air horn to make me fall off but, other than that much doesnt happen involving the cops and the few skaters we have because there is nowhere to skate. so basically all that happens here is what blindskater said what happens to him

i live in a really small town so i don't have a lot of cops around here at all. i could street skate just about anywhere and not worry about gettting in too much trouble. i think all they'd do would give me a warning.

you guys are lucky...the cops in my town are assholes. Two of my friends were arrested the other day for riding...I've been searched, lined up against a wall, had my parents called, almost had my bike and board taken away...the list goes on. Its a hassle to skate or ride in my town, there are only a couple spots that arent a bust. The cops in my town have nothing to do so they follow us around and hassle us. IT SUX!

woah that sucks, yeh theres some asshole cops in my town too they charged some of my friends for vandalism, cause supposedly they trashed a bathroom but when the cop got there all that was there was paper towels... since when are paper towels on the ground consdered vandalism?????

ive been talked to a few times. that was when we were skating past town hall and my friend ran into the wall. we got kicked off of 2 banks i think. we've gotten permision from one bank, we got kicked off the school, post office. thats about it.

he charged them for vandalism because of paper towels on the ground thats screwed up

i have never had a problem with the po pos in my town, i dont think that they care. my football coach is a cop and he saw me skating at the school and was like hey can you do a rail slide? i dont know what that is mabey the cool kids like (blind) do but i dont so i just 5050d the bench and he was saying stuff about the x games and tony hawk and then i quit listening. but cops dont care about me skating i guess cuz i am the only skater and i dont cause any trouble.

Wa? Tons of people here street skate! I strictly street skate....no park. I don't like park as much, because it's to controlled. There's no real challenges, such as rocks...cops...and cars to hit you...and nasty dogs. I like the added challenges of those. Of course, park skating is fun every now and then, but I believe if you do it to much, you'll become dependent...and eventually...suck at street.


Cops aren't as mean to boarders as people say there are, not at all. I've actually got police friends...that patrol the neighborhood. They don't say anything to kids. The only people that don't get into trouble, is ones that are UNDER age 16. If you're under that...the cops see you as innocent. If you hit 16...they see you as a potential danger. I skate alone...so I'm usually fine. The biggest tip is just to respect other people's property...we are fortunate to even have roads to board on...so there's no excuse for us to try to give skateboarders a bad rap, by acting like badasses...and disobeying the law. I stick to myself...don't trespass (I do once and a while...but only for short amounts of time!).....and the cops no longer see me as a danger...therefore they now like skateboarders.

only half the skaters in my town can even ollie, so they cant really be charged with destruction of property(like grinding stuff), so nobody really cares. "they're just harmless kids trying to have fun" is probably what everyone thinks

Right on...that's totally believeable. I was skating at like midnight one time...and was skating to a local church. First, understand my neighborhood is all houses, with one building, a church...then a couple of factories like 1 mile away...then like 10-15 miles away - downtown. Anyways, a cop stopped me....and goes 'so what's going on?'. I go "Oh, I was gonna skateboard at the church". He replies "not gonna tear nothin up are ya?". I said "no no, just flatland stuff...I'm video taping". He says "well just don't be to loud, or else another cop will get onto you".

In that case I wasn't lying,.I really was just flatland skating. The best way to out-fox a cop...is if you ARE trying to grind, and you see him...get on your board, and try to ollie, but screw it up. This gives them the "oh that kid isn't good on skateboard' thought...it helps....believe me. My other boarding friends, who only skateboard when I see them...use it all the time ;)

thats cool Mrock, but the only reason are skatepark was built was because the skateboarders/bladders/BMXers screwed all the property up downtown.So everyone hates us now. Thats why everyone cares about us doing stuff on there property or even skating in the street.i mean, i hadnt started street skating before the park was built, but the guys who did did about $100,000 damage all together or something like that.cuz the library repairs to just the front was $50,000. i know that might seem alot, but it's true

we have also been kicked off of a 2 set about 5 times but the cops really dont talk to us.....when we got kicked off of the school the principal sent out an announcement that said not to skate and considering only 4 people in the school skate we got a lot of shit for it but we also gave some shit back like this

at our school you can't skate....the first time they just tell you to get off the property, and if they see you during school hours (like right before and right after school) skating on there property officer anderson (chick who patrols my school) will take your board and your rents have to come and like just get it i think, maybe pay a fine, but yea we've pretty much only been kicked out of schools, but we have 2 outdoor skateparks and 1 indoor right in the city i live in and tons close by so we usually don't cause too much trouble. People here are pretty cool, the hockey rink actually put some rails outside for us to grind on.

are you complaining about cops being lazy?! It's good! If they did their job...ah...it'd be all over for us. I've said it on the old site, and I'll say it again....I think that people play it up about how bad cops hate us...to make them the victim. I haven't met many people that don't like me cause I skateboard, it's the hot thing right now, people think it's cool...lets hope it stays that way.

the only time ive had a cop come upto me whas when i was at a school. the guy drove into the parking lot and i didnt see him. while he was there i was grinding on a bench so he drove over and got out of his car. he asked me what i was doing and asked for my bord. but he didnt take it. he got on it and pulled the cleanest tailslide ive ever seen!!!!!!!!!!:eek: i was shocked at this and he gave me my bord back and drove off. hes around the school sometimes but never says a word to me any more:D

I have never seen a cop while skating. I find that pretty weird actually. I got told of my a teaching for usinga 3 set near some portables because there we classes in session and we were disrupting them. We were at a school one time and the principle asked us to come over. Then he said to us that we could grind on the planter boxes all we wanted but they were getting flowers soon so we had to stop once they got them. He was pretty cool about it.

we were skating at the school at 1:30 am and this cop comes up while we're filming. of course we don't have it on film but ...
