Well, this probobly isnt the easiest way, but I have an ATI TV card in my computer, and It came with a RCA to USB thing, so I could play the tape and 'record' it onto the computer as a MPEG4. That was gay, because it'd take as long as as much footage you had. So if you have two hours of footage, it'd take two hours to 'download' it. I got a new camera, you should too.

It takes these little things call memory sticks.

It owns. 1Gig on a little thing the size of your thumb, and about as thick as a few sheets of paper. They even have two gig ones.
I plug that shit to my comp, and bam, hours of footage transferred in seconds. The only thing questionable is the frame rate. If I slow the footage to half its decent. If I slow it to a quarter, it starts to look choppy. All in all, it still owns.

Is it a HI-8 tape camera or does it use mini DV tapes? The MiniDV cameras support downloading to your computer directly while older cameras do not. For the older ones you need a In on your video card so you can bring in the footage. Generally this quality will be very poor and not worth your time. Instead spend $200 and get a MiniDV camera that has USB 2.0 or firewall so you can download straight to your computer. The quality will be much better and the download speeds a lot faster

It has small tapes. To watch them you have to put them in this bigger thing and then you can watch them.does that count?

Read the first seven words in my other post. I do what works for me. I use memory sticks, you go pee-pee sitting down, etc.
