Want To Be A Mod? Here's How.

Many of you may or may not know that Ramprage has a major re-vamp of the site coming fairly soon. Well if you didn't...ya do now. It will be huge!

To accommodate this change and the influx of heavy traffic, we will be re-organizing the forum leadership.

Expected changes will increase the number of Administrators, Super Mods, and Mods.

Administrators and Supers will be promoted within the existing leadership structure, but we will be promoting 4 members to Moderator status.

Now before you get all excited about this, let it be known that the 4 new mods have already been chosen. Just not promoted yet. Nor have they been notified. Waiting for Steve's Stamp of approval.

Now what I'm gonna talk about next, you can get excited about...

Were going to adding a new rung to the leadership ladder. Were naming it "Interns". Interns will have limited powers on the forum, but that's not important. What's important is that all future Moderators will come from the Intern pool.

Now let's talk about how you can become an intern.

It's really very simple. All you have to do is submit a statement of intent. The only requirement for consideration is that you have been an active member for atleast 6 months. I know that is not alot of time, but it is the minimum, and becoming an Intern is a fast track program, but it wont be an easy one.

In your statement you should list why you want to become a Moderator, what actions you intend to take to make this a better site and forum. examples: Helping new members navigate their way around, contributing content to the site, bringing in new members...etc. Be specific. Put this all in a pm and send it to me. When the time is right to appoint interns, all the statements will be posted in the office and the mods will select 4-6.

Roughly six months after a member is appointed to Intern status, the leadership will vote again on who should move up, 1 to 2 at a time (or as needed). The system will be based solely on merit. In other words, If you want to be a Moderator you have to earn it, and you earn it by doing all the things you said you would in your statement of intent.

If I am selected as an intern I would help to control the spaming of the site. I would quickly correct any 'Newbie' if they are posting in an incorrect area for their topic or question. Also I would help to cut down on unnessecary trick questions, and control the general menacing of unnecessary topics. I would love to become a moderator and just know I help benifit the overall welfare of the site.
