How do you do slow motion video clips, without making the whole clip slow.
as in everything normal until the trick then slow motion then back to normal.

You have to split the clip. Then you just make that one clipping have slo-mo. What program are you using?

No Need. I use Windows Movie Maker. Just about every computer that uses windows already has it. Go to Start, then All Programs, then Accessories, and it should be at the bottom. (That's where mine is anyway.) It's a good program to learn editing on.
And CUTE_SK8ER quit typing all these pointless posts just to get your post count up.

if you have windows xp it will have moviemaker... you just need to go to c drive/program files/movie maker and click on the icon.... if you have service pack 2 then its upgraded from service pack 1...

to cut the video.... go to timeline view and click on the video and select where abouts you want to cut... and then under the preview clip screen, theres a button what has a dotted line through a little strip of video tape and push that and wala! now for the slow motion... now click >tools>video effects.. and search for the slow motion effect and drag and drop it infrount of the cut video and wala... there you have it... (make sure to cut the video for how long you want it first so slow motion doesnt run through the rest of the video... but that can be fixed by adding speed up or something like that).
Hope that helps :P
