nooooooooo...is my pape ruined for good?

Oook here's what happened. my and my friends did a few days worth of good footage and when i went to watch all of it my camera was sayin "PLEASE EJECT CASSETTE" so i did and i waited a minute then put it back in. It worked but the sound sucked and the picture was fuzzy. if theres any way to get this to stop happenin i need to know...i mean it was great stuff(my friend got his board ran over by a bus) PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
