I have been pushing a my board for 1 year and 2 months now I have been trying to ollie for 10 months now. I tried different setups none have worked for me I practices 4 hours everyday but I am not giving up first 8 months I kept kicking my board away and pulled a hamstring :( , 2 months later up today I am still trying to do it stationary on the carpet I smack the tail down jump and slide my feet forward but my board will come down too fast to complete the ollie. Any Help Guys Will Be Well Appreciated.

I find myself answering to every ollie thread lately oh well, here we go again. First thing is first, i know it gives a sense of safety when your on carpet but i would suggest doing it rolling outside. If you get really freaked then ride up to the grass and ollie into it, that is what i always did. To solve your problem, it sounds like you are not doing much with your front foot to level it out. A friend of mine had the same problem. When i ollie i almost kick down once i have dragged my foot up the entire way. I am not suggesting to kick the board, but put some effort into and dont just push your foot up a bit. I could be totally of target because im not sure what the exact problem is, post a vid of you doing it.

If it's done right it will look like it sticks to your feet. Try not to let your feet slip off. Maybe try some smaller ollies (you still have to jump) so you can work on keeping it under you.

If he can't even get the motion, there's no point to commit. (insaneskater)
It's really anoying, because nobody cares what your progress is currently.

ouch, 10 month, the only thing i can say is do rolling ollies, stationary ollies are absolutely pointless and extremely hard

yup i think its better to learn rolling ollies first. because it you learn stationary ollies first (like on a carpet), you'll have to re-learn everything again on rolling ollies. both feel different imo.
for an ollie, the best tip i can give is to pop as hard as you can and as you do that, move you front leg and position it closer to your back leg before you start scraping it forwards and upwards.
hope that helps :)

maybe ur not jumping up enough. wen u slam the tail down wit ur back foot, jump up as in ur back foot leaves the board slightly, not alot but just enough so that the tail pops up and remember to slide ur foot. i had the same problem i think and it worked for me

All you have to do for an ollie is drag your front foot up and push a little bit and at the same time lift your back foot up as high as you can.
