I'm not a BMXer myself but I think there are grabs, stalls, grinds, spins... similar to skateboarding.

I guess a tailwhip would go under spins?

Weird stuff, where are the hard core BMX people that I made this section for?

maybe tailwhips would be a misc category, like a casper in skating.(i know that its a freestyle move but ya know what i mean)

I think there are stalls, grinds, spins and freestyle (Like the tailwip, or a manual (weelie))

well thats what i was gona clasify it as... "freestyle" wouldnt be a good category for it though, if youve ever watched some biking shows after concrete wave or board wild or something like that you will find out what freestyle is...

its when they get a nice smooth, flat area and do mullen stuff(but on a bike) for like 5 minutes. they do things like stand with 1 foot on the frotn peg, balanced on the front wheel, kicking the wheel with the free foot to make them go around in circles and then they hop into one on the back wheel.... blah blah blah.... im sure that you've all seen that on TV at least once. so i think a tailwhip would be classified as an air trick.... like an ollie south in skating

well guys, there are kickflips in BMX...also known as crankflips.

they are pretty tough to learn, but once you get'em, they're not too bad.

a kickflip is when, while in the air, you flip your pedals (cranks) around a full turn (backwards) without hitting your feet until they make a full revolution.

tailwips are considered a "big air trick"...along the lines with backflips and such.

types of tricks in BMX :
Air - tucking the bike into your body to get the maximum hieght

Grinds - i.e. feebles (front tire on ledge or rail, rear peg on ledge or rail), smiths (rear tire on ledge or rail, front peg on ledge or rail), double pegs (duh), crooked grinds (only done on rails, when a left side peg is on the rail at the same time as a right side peg)...ect.

Spins - 180's, 360's, 540's, 720's, and 900's

Style airs - kinda like motowhips on motorcycles, good for flowing through the trails at the local dirt jumps.

Basic Tricks - taking body parts off of their prescribed places while in the air i.e. no footer, no hander.

Grabs - seat grab, tire grab, uh...others too, but for the cleanliness of the site i wont mention them...

Flatland (for the most part) requires more balance and skill than all the other areas. It takes an extremely long time to master and even more dedication.

- Proud to be Flatland -

I think the most exciting is definently air. There's nothing cooler than a backflip floated over a dirt jump. I love how tailwhips look...Flatland and air. The trick being pulled now, a 540 Tailwhip (by Jay Miron) is NUTS!!!!!!

not as nuts as the ellusive backflip tailwhip...pulled clean.

That's crazy...but I still think a simple tailwhip over a dirt jump looks sweet!

I just learned double peg stalls to disasters on a quarter pipe. yeah!!! I am making myself learn 5 lip tricks this year and that is now two. i already know how to do double pegs, and feebles, and disasters, and a couple others. If anyone knows any other lip tricks post it and help me out.

yo dirt bag sack i like your name too trinity is a sandwich that i like alot it has three different kinds of meat cheese and concomunts fruits and vegatables and whatever else you want on it except its gotta be three different kinds. also i dont use grease cause i like the rough ride but i think a white lithium greese like vasoline or lotion should be sufficiend. and as for the pedals i just run a two by for cut to the demisions that i like with some roofing tacks in it. plastincky petals are the pile of crap.
