here is a decent bunch. research them.

canon optura xi
canon optura 20
Sony DCR-TRV25
jvc gr dv800u
Panasonic PV-DV702
Sony DCR-TRV80
Sony DCR-HC85
Sony DCR-TRV27
(copied from hopelessfilmer)

if you want to order stuff online i reccomend BHphotovideo.com. for around $600 buy a panasonic 3chip (better quaility) thats what i have and im very impressed. 3chip/(3ccds) is th quality of prosumer cams like sony vx1k, vx2k, vx21k.

You can get a great setup for under 250.

optura 10/20 from ebay. basically the best 1 chip camera you can get, I grabbed mine for 150.

Optura 10/20 - 150 - 200
Kenko x.43 - 30 bucks new

this is such a stupid ass topic, sorry, any camera that isnt 3ccd is going to suit you well. There is no persay 'beginner' camera, any camera you can start on hell you could start on super 8 and drop over 5 grand into it until youre good. which would make you get good at long lens pretty damn fast, and you wouldnt buy a fisheye fori t since if you have a camera thats able to have a fisheye the lens will be 5 grand its self.

theres already tons of great video cameras up there

EDIT:sorry, i wasnt paying attention to the section, nevermind

For 300 you could get a canon elura 100 those other cameras you wont be able to find for under 500 except for the opturas. the elura 100 is a nice camera though
i got a kenko for mine its coming on wensday. it has a light but its not that strong the colors and the sound are pretty decent itll be fine for you.

I think adorama has it for 300 but i got mine for 400. right now i have the kenko 43 but im getting the raynox clip so i can have some variety maybe by the end of the summer i might get a baby death.

variety... shoot long lens. theres variety for ya.

if you just shoot straight long lens it makes it not variable at all. so using a fisheye and long lens shots is considered variety.

well he's talking about having two fisheye's. kenko and the raynox clip, suppsosably there will be variety between the two.

oh shit i didnt read it correctly, i read it as when he gets the gaynox clip on he wont use the kenko, then when he got the death he wont use the gaynox. uh there will be variety, in a way lol, its like ones not as distorted as the other, and they both suck. my bad trippy.

no prob. lol i dont see the point of 3 fisheyes anyway... save your money buy the baby death forget the other two.

I was saying variety by using long lens teh kenko and the raynox. i already have the kenko so im gonna buy the raynox and then when i have enough money for the baby death im gonna sell the raynox to some kid for an absurd amount of money.
