I just got the Vans XL3 in Black/white. Are they any good? I have heard mixed things about Vans. I haven't skated them yet, but they are coming in the mail soon.

No skate shoe lasts a while. Only about a week of harsh skating. Shoe goo is magical healer though.... wow lame

yea i skated in some rowleys before my etnies they lasted about 2 years and skated pretty well(only 2 years cause they got to small for me) but yea i like the colour and the shoe itself looks like it could take a year or twos worth of damage

"only 2 years because they got too small"

HOLY ****!

you skated shoes for TWO YEARS and you said it was ONLY two years like it should have been more?

do you even skate?

and in VANS? come on, ive skated my rowley classics twice for a total of maybe 4 hours and theyre about half done.

i find that INSANELY INCREDIBLY unbelievable.

edit: i didnt even see the part where you said "looks like it could take a year or twos worth of damage"....

MY GOD. you are insane. sorry im "freaking out," but thats just completely crazy to me. a YEAR? VANS? there is absolutely no way thats possible. and im saying this in a bad way, yes. if you skateboard, vans will NOT last that long. unless you NEVER do anythig besides push around.

seriously in disbelief.

VANS=Cheap way out. :-41:
I also am stumped about the whole 2 years thing.
You must skate with no griptape.

even if you dont skate, vans lasting that long is still really crazy.

vans are good shoes because they skate well and the grip is good. but they tend to rip. i've heard the rowley XL3 is a good shoe. personally, i dont like the color, i like the red and white. but thats just me.

I had the XL3 a while back. They are just about the lightest shoe out there, but they tore up really fast. I think vans in general will skate extremely well, but if you want durability, go for Fallens.

OOoo, I just got these same shoes. Not for skating though, and they're the red ones. They look so cool, and they're light, so I wear them to shows.

I had Vans once... they had a nice grip, however they didnt last long.
So I will never buy Vans again...
