View Full Version : How to make a handle for your camera.

Step 1
Go to your local hardware store and buy a metal bar (flat metal) around 1/4 inch thick so you can bend it and buy a screw that fits the tripod hole for your camera buy two washers and make sure that there is enough room for the metal and the washer so that it holds tight and you get the screw a good distance into the hole.

Step 2
Find a drill bit the same size or bigger then the screw

Step 3
Measure the metal and mark it off so that the bend is about an inch past the viewfinder. then bend it at the top so you have just enough room to put your hand there.

Step 4 (Optional)
wrap the handle in tape so you cant get scratched or your camera can get scracthed. Get a bicycle grip, wrap extra tape where you want the bicycle grip so it has a tighter grip and then put on your grip

Step 5
put one washer on the bolt put the bolt into the hole in your handle put on the other washer then screw the bolt into your tripod hole.

The outcome should look similar to this.

ummm... its amazing, small, can still use the veiwfinder also tripod if wanted, and..... it has buttons. that sum it up for you?

you get the handle off an old ghetto VHS camera. it unscrews... but as for the buttons its a secret... actually they come with pannys.

it comes with pannisonic cameras... its a button microphone and its awsome on handles!

Trippy that has to be the best homemade handle ive ever seen. Congrats on finding the secret to awsome handles. It looks so awsome. I gotta find out how to make one.

yeah i have have a panny gs150 3chip ... and the handle came off an old vhs camcorder.

and its scratched because my old handle. and the bolts beig loose in the bag. nothin a few stickers cant fix.

its not bad ... it protects the camera preventing scratches.

its on the fricken lens cap, whoopdy-freakin-doo, oh and trippy, bothe of thoes handles are sweet, ill take the ol done off your hands if you done need it:D

I dont really know what the big deal about his handle is. Its far away from the camera. Farther away from cam=wobbly

Now hes got a good hotshoe handle its just far enough away from the camera to put your hand there which makes it perfect.
