ok, i know theres been a lot of fuss with me and trucks lately, but i have a final question. wheather you like silver trucks or not, with the whole axle protector thing, does it like stick out, so you are skating and look down and you see the axle protector sticking out?
say i'm getting a 7.63 deck, and silver trucks axle 5.0, 7.75. is that axle protector thing gonna be sticking out? if so should i get axle 4.75, 7.5 and then it will line up with my board?

mate.... dont get silvers; too many people say how much they suck, and how the pivot point broke; http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews-all-51314.html
stay with krux or move to Independent. those axle protection things are the worst invention anyone ever came up with....

i'm looking for light-weight and a strong kingpin, and i hate when the kingpin sticks out so it is taller than the hanger. you think krux downlows would be good?

The axle protectors stay on about 26 seconds then they fall/break off and your thread is ****ed. Also mine were very soft and got a major grove in the front truck from crook-grinds.

so krux downlows are what i'm looking for?

Dookie416
07-13-2006, 01:14 AM
how are those velvet trucks? good? bad?

07-13-2006, 11:32 PM
ya good i have downlows and they rock!

the velvet is glued on all over the trucks, so it doesnt come off once you grind. you also get a nice feel when you're walkin through shops and a fresh look to make all those wooden krux riders shit themselves with envy.

actually, i changed my mind, i'm most likely going with indy's or ventures for my next pair, if i have the money indy's, otherwise ventures. what's so good about thunders?
TrAnCe
07-15-2006, 07:01 AM
thunders? well spenser uses them for one. spencers been anoying me lately, like when he closed that elenemt vs fight! thread as if its his 'right' rather than honour.... but they're made in the same factory as Indys.
buy Independents though if you dont choose krux. dont choose ventures again. once you go with Independent or krux, you wont go back.

i just read you comment thing a couple things up and u said ur gonna get ventures if u dotn get the independants......dont ever get ventures.....or if u do change the bushings to make thema little better. i skated them last and they wore down so fast....the kingpin also grinds away because its high up.....everyoen has problems with their board turnign with ventures so i wouldnt get them
Dookie416
07-15-2006, 04:54 PM
so ill get indys or krux, but most likely i'll be trying indys first. ,i mean i've skated krux before, and they were fine, just i didnt like them that much cause they were like 8" wide and the axles were all ****ed. thanks guys.

the axle protectors fall off after 5 feet of skating, and my kingpin broke off a kickflip over a deck

i've thought about it, and no matter what anyone says, i'm just gonna stick with ventures. i dont have too many problems with them, and i like them.

i have ventures and i think it was a mistake i'm gunna get me some grind kings next
TrAnCe
07-24-2006, 07:21 AM
mate, mate, maate. honestly, ventures are GOOD, I'll give them that, but dont you want to try something else for once? isnt the Independent logo 'ride the best'? you'll get more grind time from Independent (hey, they're BUILT to grind) they turn more sexifully (fast action geometry) and they are the best out there. dont get thunders though; they're disappointing.... only a good team, but shittyish trucks (imo)
Dookie416
07-24-2006, 01:39 PM
alright, trance, i changed my mind. my next trucks will be independents.
Dookie416
07-25-2006, 01:47 AM
eff that. i just skated a park all day, and these 2 kids had indy's, and they are so heavy, i dont like them, im getting thunders or krux next, probably thunders
fuzzybunny
07-25-2006, 02:17 AM
Thunders are awesome. Not too heavy, last a while, and, besides having to balance a little, they slide so good you don't know you're grinding.
Dookie416
07-25-2006, 03:10 AM
fo sho? what about royal. better? worse? in the mid? either thunder or royal, choose me one.

there should just be a sticky for a trucks choice topic or something.
Dookie416
07-25-2006, 04:52 AM
but at since there isnt, i'm asking questions.
lem201314
07-25-2006, 04:56 AM
i had royals, at first i didn't like it cz the bushings are so f***ed, but other than that its all good.. except the bushings.. Thunders are good, it's like Ventures but better.. Krux disappoints me cz the axle on the trucks bend upwards as f***, so i'd stick to Thunders..

thats Trance with a capital T, fool! lol, screw thunders! I got them! I want my Independents back! **** thunders! they're only 10 grams lighter. ten, measly little grams. **** that; and royals are even worse. they have weak metal and break fast. honest man, try Independents; buy a set; you wont ever regret it. best turning feel, grind forever (literally) and look the best.... krux are ALL advertising (take out the hole, and they'd be a perfectly normal skateboard truck) and thunders are just that. normal. Independents are Independents. the choice of everyone good for the past 28 years. all else is obsolete.
and amen to that :-)
Dookie416
07-25-2006, 03:04 PM
no, i dont want indys, they are so heavy
TrAnCe
07-26-2006, 12:03 PM
lol 10 grams mate.... dont buy some shit like thunder fo 10 grams lighter weight. I did. bad move. and krux are heavier than thunders. so technically, that 10 grams makes you better.

07-26-2006, 10:53 PM
i would ether get thunder, silver,or krux.
me and my friends skated those brands and like them. in lightest order is
silver-thunder-krux
but what kind of skating are you into then again?
JoeyKovacs
07-26-2006, 11:08 PM
no, i dont want indys, they are so heavy
Worst reasoning ever.
Whats .0034 of a pound gunna do to your skating? Stage 9's by Indy are just like every other truck, maybe they had like 1800 B.C Indy trucks.
Weight is not an issue in trucks. If one is heavier, its barely notice-able. Its all in your head.
Get Independent, or Krux.
If you can't choose, pick the prettier colour.

im getting silvers, my friends skate them, they have no problems, i am getting them. idc if the king pins snap, i have more.
TrAnCe
07-28-2006, 07:26 AM
aight whatever then man, your choice :-) btw, their kingpin is inverted....
Dookie416
07-28-2006, 07:31 AM
i know, and if it does snap, ill see if i can just pop in a kingpin like a regular truck, not inverted.
TrAnCe
07-28-2006, 09:01 AM
yeah.... that works from what I've been told. shame u didnt get the Independents though, they're legendary.... maybe for your next set after you've burnt your silvers. lotsa ppl use silvers down here and say they're good for grinding feelbes, crookeds, etc. have fun on them.

07-28-2006, 01:20 PM
my friends krux's are hella heavy. there good but heavy. i love my destructos. nothing wrong with them and are lasting long, and i do grind quite a bit
Dookie416
07-28-2006, 04:09 PM
i really dont know. my opinion changes all the time. ill really have to try out some indy's on somebody's board, and i probably wont get trucks until christmas
vansokc
07-28-2006, 07:29 PM
get silvers. i had no prolems with them except the thread protectors but who really cares then again. every has different opinions about stuff.
i havent broke a kingpin yet nether has my friend thats the only truck he will skate.
they can handle backside flips down a 8 set
Dookie416
07-28-2006, 10:11 PM
i have a feeling i will fall into the lucky ones and my silvers will blow, and all the problems everyone had i will i have.
