Took me about 2.5 hours. I'm bad with lips and horrible with noses but I can say this is the best I've done.

It looks....kinda like vector art. Is that all on one layer?

Well honestly bro, thats better than anything I could try and scrape out of my fingers. You didn't to do badly in my opinion.

I think it's pretty good but the lips are to big and pink.

Sweet. Photoshop advice:

* Try to do everything on different layers. For example, what I do, is I do a lineart on one layer. Then I create a new layer for the flat colours. Then I create a new layer for the shadows, and so on. That way, if you need to change one thing, you won't affect the entire artwork because you'll only affect what is on that layer. There are different layer types and styles/settings like Darken and Multiply and such; you can experiment with all of that.

* Make good use of the Dodge and Sponge tools. These are your basic light and dark tools if you can't be bothered looking for the darker shade of your colour to use for shadows. I've quickly drawn this up so that I can represent it diagramatically:

It doesn't really look all that great considering I did it in two minutes, but you get the idea. If you have a drawing tablet like I do, the heaviness of the burn or sponge will depend on how hard you press with the electronic pen. Dodge and Sponge are really good.

* The Lasso tool is really, really, really handy. You use it to select a certain area, and anything outside of that area will not be affected, no matter what you do.

* I use lineart a lot. I'll scan my drawing into the computer as a pencil sketch, and then I grab the Brush tool in photoshop, and outline the drawing in black. It looks much cleaner, and helps you with lassooing and colouring. It can be a pain in the ass if you don't have a tablet though.

Heh, Vector Art is...hard to explain. You know how regular images are made up of pixels? Well, vector art uses lines instead of pixels. It's hard to do, but the up-side is that it looks awesome, and no matter how much you resize the image, it doesn't lose quality like a pixelized image would.

Hope that helped.

Each color is it own layer that makes it easy to make changes to a layer without messing up the rest of your art.
One nice about useing vectors is you can blow it up to any size and it will still look crystel clear.
I do almost all my stuff in vector if I can.

Here's a tutorial on layers it looks good but I did not make it.
