Hey i've been skating for about 2 years now and i started playing football about the same time. ill go to a skatepark and hang with some people and think theyre cool then ill hear them talking about how football players are gay. So my question is do you think its cool to do both or do you think its selling out?

It's only selling out if you do something just cuz you think it's cool... or for money.

Playing any sport and skateboarding is fine, I don't see why it wouldn't be. I'm not a sports fan, but I don't see anything wrong with it. Skateboarders who generalize football players are just as bad as everyone who generalizes skateboarders.

I agree. Skating and doing other sports is fine, dont worry about what some random kids think anyway.

Yeah too true. Unfortunately I stereotype football players--I know I shouldn't, but I have yet to be proven wrong--but I think that you can do whatever you like.

i dont see why playing two different sports would be selling out. skateboarding is and playing other sports doesnt make you different. does skating and football make u lose your kickflip? no. so its not selling out if its what u like to do.

I play baseball and so do just about all the kids I skate with do to so I don't see anything wrong with skating and playing a team sport and it is not selling out.

Yes I played football and basketball a couple years ago while skating. I don't see anything wrong with it. It may keep you busy with all your schoolwork. (If you're in High School)

Arrrrrrrrgh I'm a football player but in all honestly I love skateboarding, and I like football. Do whatever you want aslong as you're having fun.

I wrestled during the last winter. I didn't skate at all though. I didn't have time. I've been thinking to drop wrestling so I can skate during the winter and I'll have more time to do homework.

I started skating about 5 years ago, but I started playing basketball when I was 5. Every year of high school I completely dropped skating from October to around March to focus on basketball and I dont regret it at all.

I broke my elbow playing for the highschool football team. Surgery and two screws for life. I loved football... but this kinda blew it for me. Also, i used to play AAA baseball and i was debating whether or not to go play it again (i took a break for a year to focus on football). Now my arm is permanently gimp, so i just focus on skating. What really pisses me off is how the doctor didnt care that i broke it playing football, but when i hairline fractured my elbow two years ago and i didnt need a cast i just had to stay off it for a few weeks and do some physio he wrote that i could never skateboard again on my permanent record. ****ing tool.

No, I don't know a kid named Jack Bellis. I was on Modified (middle school level) wrestling this last year because I was in 8th grade.

Yeah, it's cool, sorry for insinuating that I don't like football players...but I really don't in general. I mean, there must be exceptions--really nice people--and you know, that's cool. But I can safely say that every football player I have met has just put me right off. Maybe it's just Australian football players.

It's the same deal. Though I think in England, soccer is football.

Rugby and Football are the same thing down here. Rugby Leauge, Rugby Union, AFL...all that kinda thing. It's all football.

I'm a goofy bald kid lol, and I love to go out and have a good time. Generally on my skateboard. Even when we play football I'm always making jokes and fooling around. I don't care about the whole insult thing, I stereotype myself as a skateboarder not a football player. I'm not buff...

Let me tell you. Wrestling and skateboarding dont mix. You wake up and drive to school. After school you dress up for practice. Then after practice your ready to skate but then you relize that your body isnt gonna move from all the practice. Then when you think the weekends are open you find out hey I have matches. So for wrestling there is no more room for wrestling unless you quit wrestling.

I hate most football players... not because they play football... but because most Jocks of today are stuck up douches who hate all skaters just because they skate. But I have a few friends who play football and aren't that bad.... so go for it... just don't be a douche.

Wrestling is pretty much using different takedowns to get your opponent on the ground, then trying to get their shoulders on the mat for a few seconds. Stuff like punching, kicking, biting, etc. isn't allowed. It's different than the WWE stuff.

I play soccer, rugby league, tennis, rugby union and I skate. I dont see why not. Are you all talking about gridiron (american football?) Cause here since we dont have gridiron team sports, everyone plays rugby league, even the skaters and maybe even the nerds :P

Yes and you wouldnt belive how after 30 secs your body is wore out. Sometimes its painful and I have seen kids with broken legs and arms from it.

I can imagine. Though the rules for punching, kicking, etc. sound strict, I can imagine the myriad of injuries just by the takedown.

Speaking of real wrestling, anybody see Dana White, Matt Hughes and George St. Pierre on ESPN. Heeelllllls Yeah.
