Just get a digital camera that is capable of recording 80 second movies. The quality wont be superb but its pretty easy and not too expensive.

First of all, you dont need a DVD-R drive, that seems like a waste of time because blank DVD-R's are friggin expensive and they can only hold 4.7 gigs on them. Seems like a waste to me. You also don't HAVE to have firewire. USB should do fine. As for a tripod, you can get cheap, small travel tripods for under $20 US. Just some points to keep in mind when you are purchasing. And remember, if you are new to filming, it isnt a necessity to get a fisheye.

DVD-R drives are sweet !!! and 4.7 gigs is a good amount of time.
I really like the way u can set ur DVD menu like select by chapter or a wreck section...competitions anything u want. Yeah it does cost but the pro's out weigh the cons. USB will work but a ya have to admit a firewire is better. I use Vegas 3.0 for film editing and it is by far the best thing out there...nothing comes close...u could edit the matrix with that program. also thanx for the fisheye pick-up...I forgot about that.

Yeah, but firewire doesn't cost $120 US, or at least i don't remember it being that much. I got mine for about $50-60, it was an adapter post that you put in a empty PCI slot on your computer.
