man, lately i've kinda decided that i want to be a pro skater. i mean, i know that sounds kinda stupid but i think i would be really happy doing that. being able to skate with pros that i've admired all my skateboard life and go to all of these places that i've seen. well, i'm not that good and i keep telling myself that it probably won't even happen and i should skate only for fun, but it seems like everytime i skate i just think "man it would be cool to skate for a living". so i'm confused. if you guys have any advice i would appreciate it. sorry for the long post.

How old are you?

It's really good that you have dreams. Just keep on skating. Don't be influenced by other people.

You telling yourself that you can't do it. The trick is to be retardedly over confident and go full blast practicing. Other wise your a gonner in the dream world. But skate for fun man

Yeah, it is possible. You never know, you might be intrested in becoming pro and end up being the manager of a skate shop.

it's always nice to go pro, even get some kind of sponsorship, wheather you are known or unkown, you still get free stuff and can skate with your local scene, even if it's not the popular scene.

A combination of that and common sense should get you where you want to be. Just work your way up to the top.

You see the pros and what they do. Try to be good at everything and win local compititions.

My steps to become pro:

1) Skate for fun
2) Someone will notice you and ask for footy
3) Footy will get spread to companies
4) You get flowed
5) Am
6) Pro
7) Beer
8) Sex
9) More beer
10) Congratulations, you are pro.

Skate for fun. Wait about a year and give your local shop a footy. Then hope that you get sponsered by them and start comps. If you win a couple of troohies bring them into your shop. Then word will start to spread about you and you can send a footy to a company and mabye send some footage of a competition. Then you'll probably get sponsered and it's all uphill from there. Also don't get your hopes too high because if you fail you might get discouraged enough to stop skating. Then you ruined the purpose of skating: to have fun.

Moral of this story: Keep trying and don't give up. You'll eventually make it.

Who? Ok, well anyways, that doesnt matter. The odds of him (adio guy) going pro are very slim. Very very slim. He might get sponsored. But most likely wont make his living off of skating.

well yeah i was skating for fun before, and then soon enough, i wanted to go pro and try really hard, it really took my skating down, i started losing it and i started getting more mad when i didnt land tricks, if i were u just skate for fun, and get better not cause of sponsorship, but because it makes skateboarding funner to you, and then soon enough you might be good enough to be able to get a sponsorship if your lucky..........

...........10 cents.
