Alright i know im not supposed to ask trick questions but this is only half trick question. I got 2 stair right when i started. Then i waited till summer to try a 3 stair. I just got a few fours and i wanna take it off a 5. Is there some stairs that come all the same and then ones that are bigger which come harder. Can someone tell me when stairs will start to get harder?

it depends what your doing..if your doing a trick over stairs...it starts to change alot around 7 or 8 stairs and up...i think it does more height and you have to be able to do you trucks at higher speeds..but below that its basically all the same..but ollieing over stuff...stairs its just the more stairs the more speed the bigger the impact.same with doing tricks but it just seems like it gets harder over 7 or 8

Over 5 and tricks get harder. Over 7 and ollies get harder. Gotta get used to speed.

I guesse its because a 2 and 3 are so close to being a high curb

2-8 I can do rolling pretty slow. 10 gets a little faster, and 14 (Biggest I've done) takes a lot of speed.

Tricks get difficult for me at around 8. It's all in the skater and how confident you are.

a five you can just tap your tail and hop over but some fives are bigger than others, look for a five infront of a school those are usually the easiest. Ive seen this eight and my friend told me you could just pop over it but hes alot better and he flipped it. I wont be doing that anytime.

man, any tricks over a 5 are reallly really hard for me, Ollieing anything more then an 8 is tricky for me, and ollieing a 10+ is just phenomenal :D. I can do a 10, not anyhthing higher, mainly cua I havent tried anythign bigger then a 10, xcept a 13 wich was a disaster. I did a loooonnngggg 5 set, was the size of a 9, I almost killed myself on the first try.

sets make me mad, so I try to avoid them lol, cuz I always mess somethign up by doing them.

At my skatepark i saw a 7 year old do a big five by just tapping his tail. Its bigger then an average five, each step is like 1.5 feet long or so and 1 foot tall

Once they get too big for someone to just straight up jump down, then there is a difference. Jumping down stairs with out a board isn't really that smart. Plus, stair sets change in size and shape some are tall some are long some aren't built right and have different sized steps, they change there is no set difficulty level.

I'm about where Mcjesus is. I can do fours nearly every time and have tried 5's but still cant do em. For some reason 5's seem 100 times harder than 4's..
maybe im just odd

a foot tall five? That's ****ing tiny! I tried an 8 at my school and it's taller than I am (more than 5'9") The smallest 5 i've seen was like 3'6'' high and like 4'6'' long..

Mmm. It does depend on the size of the stairs. But basically...the bigger the set, the bigger the pop, the faster the speed. And hell, just commit. You tend to get hurt less if you commit to landing it.

Here's my tip for trying a new set: wear knee, elbow, wrist guards and a helmet then go for it. It helps with the confidence level. I know because the biggest set I ever attempted was a 2 and then I went to my grandma's. She has a ledge the size of a 4 stair and I tried it with the gear and never fell. So just throw on the gear and try it.

man there arent any big sets where i live, but there was a four set the size of a six, in the past year i was always afraid of it but i thought if i cant even do a four im not gonna get anwhere in skateboarding, the first time i tried it thought i needed speed so i went so fast that i landed like 3 feet in front of the set, but after that sets seem easy, all you have to do is get the courage and a good pop.

I'm kinda proud of me being able to ollie a five set so I thought I'd post this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUJ0B9OERBc) again, mainly cause I just lost my board in a river next to my skate park and won't be able to record anything new for a little while.

okay, it might sound crazy but i ollied over a 4 set before i ollies over a deck, no shit! it took me a while, but hey, i got it.... stairs don't get hard until you do flips over them, becasue you can ollie over a 2 set, sure, but can you variel over one? that when shit gets hard as ****!

it seems like i could kickflip this 4 so easily, but when i took it to a 5, it just went downhill, and i'm still trying to kickflip it. probably cause this 5 is a little bigger than normal, but when i land it i will be so happy, and my friend that has done this 7 set directly across from it(its a train station) says that after you kickflip it things change and get better.

i think the change is when you step up to 5-7 depending on the size of the steps. I did my first 6 like 3 days ago and it was way different than the 4s i was doing. I almost shit my pants.
