vx is alot better quality, lowlight and sound. the only thing that the gl1 has is the lcd screen

uh, the vx1000 has horrible ass lowlight, sorry to say, but the gl1 is alot better in the lighting section. also with the right manual settings it can be just as good if not better then the vx1000.

what are you talking about the vx has horrible ass lowlight. maybe compared to vx2_00 but compared to a gl1? common you have a vx you should know better then that!

casanova

yea i do know better then that, and i have a friend with a gl1, and its low light is better. It all depends on where you are filming, in a parking lot with a a light post, Yes it is true the vx has 1/3'' ccds, and the gl1 has 1/4'' but you can set the gl1 to have better low lighting as opposed to the vx, the vx is more color oriented to be quite truthful. Sony was thinking first 3 chip and best colors.

i too was looking at gl1 vs vx1k

And i mostly skate at night and from what casanova said the gl is better i will mostly be skating in like a downtown area where most lightin is from poles for shops

EDIT: also what has better add ons like attach able lights and mics

Trippy_Filmer

better add ons? or better features? their would be no difference on which camera you attach the mic or light onto. it would be the manual settings that would make a difference and the quality and price your will to spend to get a mic or light.

light a bescor 20/40, and mic i dont really know.

mk1 on gl1 is super sick because theres no vig its soo wide and theres none of those damn red flares so its better if u can get an mk1

wowwhatsthat
07-30-2006, 05:18 AM
Im pretty sure theres no vig on an mk2 on a Gl1. and i would rather just get an mk2 to me its not really worth the hassle to get a lense thats only a little bit wider.

winnipegdizzle

id much rahter a wider lense even if it is a little hassle. to me its such a big difference

Canon just isnt up to par in the 3ccd world. Get the vx1k if you want, but lately i'd say just go for a vx2k or vx2100. Soon enough everyone will be out of using the vx1k due to parts being harder and harder to find. The industry is changing over, now with the bayonet modding for the mk1 to fit these cameras... everyones making the change.
