Well I noticed that there are several stickys that include information on a lot of the same trick yet people still keep posting threads about these tricks. I figured the problem is everyone skates differently so what works for one person doesn’t work for the other so when people read the trick tip help and try it out that method doesn’t work for them. Instead of checking the other stickys to check if the trick tip information in that post will help the they just make there own post. I decided to try and combine all of the threads together to create one big thread where there was several different trick tips for each trick so it is nearly garneted that one method will work for someone. I have given credit to all the original members that made the post and I hope they don’t mind me using their work. If they do mind then just post and hopefully a mod will edit that out of this thread. So here go
STR8 RIPPIN’S Trick Tips Thread
Navigating the thread-
Because of the size of the content of this post it has had to be divided over 5 posts simply because it doesn’t fit into one post..
Post 1 contains a summary of the thread and the trick included.
Post 2 and 3 covers flat ground
Post 4 covers grinds and slides
Post 5 covers transition
Orange text indicates information that I took from another members post (again mention if you don’t want it to be used and it will be removed)
Purple text is any extra information by me
Finding a specific trick tip-
First check the summary to see if the trick tip you want is included. Then click (CTRL + F) this will open up the find box. Type in the trick tip and click find next until you are brought to the heading for that trick.

(Eventually, when you get decent at ollies, you can position your feet to your comfort.) Next, you'll need to put %75 weight on your back leg, and %25 of your weight on the front leg. Bend your knees, and thrust your back leg STRAIGHT DOWN. Don't do anything with your front leg yet. Just keep on practicing popping the board straight down and jumping with it. Once you're comfortable with popping, keep the board down with your tail touching the ground and the rest of your board in the air. Just start practicing jumping a bit and sliding up your front foot while doing so. Make sure you land with all wheels on the ground at the same time. (Due to the levelling out of the board) And once you get the feel of that, combine both the movements. Bend your knees, pop the board straight down, jump up, and slide your front foot to bring it up while levelling your board out. You probably won't get it the first time, but just keep trying. PRACTICE THIS IN MOTION BY THE WAY. If you're scared of doing this, put some helmet and some pads on. Nobody's going to think you're a pussy.

When you try this trick try placing you feet in the heelflip position. This is how I learned to do them and may work for you.

a.) Foot Position: Same as ollie, maybe a little more heel on to the board, but not too much more. If you have problems spinning the board, try this foot position: http://photobucket.com/albums/v343/b...t=DSC01203.jpg it may not seem very different, but really the back foot's toes are on the edge of the frontside of the board. This gives it sort of an "automatic" scoop.
b.) This trick is sort of scary at first, but you really got to commit to it. Wear a helmet or elbow pads if you don’t want to get hurt. Anyways, first, get in to that ollie position. Do the same thing, bend down, and instead of just popping up, "scoop" your feet by pushing your front foot forward, and your back foot to your backside. This will cause the spin on the shove it. Suck up your knees to get as high in the air as you can, while figuring out how to hover over the board. Hover over it, and when it just about gets to the 180 degree spin, slam down and land that sucker.

Another easy trick. Set up like you would for an ollie, but I have my front foot at a slight angle...I'm not sure why.
Then, instead of popping directly down; pop, and scoop your back foot to pull the board around. Then jump forward with both feet for the catch.

Kickflip-
a.) Foot Position: http://photobucket.com/albums/v343/b...t=DSC01197.jpg yet again, keep that front foot a little outward. When you kickflip gaps, stairs, ledges, and ramp, you should keep your foot position like the ollie position that I explained.
b.) Here we go, I know there is a thread on it already, but here's my version. Get in to the position I just explained. Pop in to and ollie, but if you really can't land it yet, exaggerate that "roll" on or front foot. Make it kick out to where the concave on your board bends. Pop hard. This will get the board spinning at least. Now when you pop, you want to jump as high as you can, but spin it too, so do that almost simultaneously. Kick out and jump at the same time, and suck them knees up. It will take a while to get used to hovering over it, but you'll get the hang of it soon enough. Now depending on how fast/slow you spin it, you're gonna have to land it hard. Fast spinners should slam down when the board is half way turned around, so you will see the bottom of your board. Slow spinners should slam down when the board is just about turned around completely. Medium spinners (As I) Should start to go down when the board is in the primo position. Slam down hard on that sucker. Wear some shin guards or something when you are just learning them.

a.) http://photobucket.com/albums/v343/b...t=DSC01198.jpg You can keep your front foot straight if you want to, I prefer to, but you can also keep them outward a little bit too. Your back foot is like the FS flip, it is all toe and ball and behind the concave.
b.) First, pop your board, like ever other trick. But while you go up, make the griptape grip to your heel and push it off the end or off where the bolts are. Don't pop it to hard, but give it enough pop to make it go high. This trick generally goes high every time if you put enough pressure on the back foot. The only tough thing about this trick is getting th fast flip, which can be frustrating to get. Push down when the end of your hell is on the frontside of your board and return it back to your board after the flip. Hover over it, and land that sucker.

a.) Foot Position: http://photobucket.com/albums/v343/b...t=DSC01195.jpg its probably one of those position you're just gonna have to learn to deal with and get comfortable with. As you can see, the hell on your back foot should be hanging off a lot, and have the ball of your foot on the backside of your board, like right before the concave bend.
b.) Ok this is one of the tricker tricks, and looks so nice off of stuff like stairs and ledges and gaps. First off, get in to the position. You can do either of 2 things: wind up by turning your hip the opposite direction of where your board is turning OR you can trn your hip ever so slightly to the front side, so there is less turning to do, which is what i prefer. Kickflip but exagerate the kick of ever so much andmake the board stick to the kick off part of your foot (where it rips the most) and spin it in to the FS direction. When you reach 90 degree angle, you can either turn in the air,

Step one: Put on a weird wife beater
Step two: Get your mom to film
Step three: Make sure you know kickflips and b/s 180s.
Step four: Set up with your front foot in your comfortable kickflip posistion and backside 180 posistion.
Step 5: Pop and start to turn your shoulders backside. Kick out and pop high.
Step 6: Keep an eye on the board and once it's flipped all the way around, stomp down.
Step 7: Finish the spin and follow up like you would for a backside 180.
360 Flip-
a.) Foot Postion: http://photobucket.com/albums/v343/b...t=DSC01199.jpg This position will give you an easier spin. If you have a weak flip, you can just move your front foot down more. This time, you should keep your front foot more outward than usual.
b.) Get in to the position. Instead of popping too hard, put a moderate pop in to it. Too hard of a pop wil make your lose control. Scoop your back foot backside and your front foot front side, and doing a kickflip all at the same time. You should make the spin fast and smooth; slow ones...look like crap, and are hard to land. Don't suck your legs up too much, unless you can, try and make it with style. When it gets to the 360 spin, dont slam to hard, just ride away smoothly. Or you can 270 spin, and pivot, that could work too

Roll up to the object with you back facing it at a slight angle. I have my feet in the kickflip position but whatever works for you. Ollie over the object so the centre of your back truck is directly over the part you are going to grind. Turn your body slightly so you are parallel to the object and shift you weight to the back foot. Land on the rail on your back truck grind and roll away.

Roll up to the object facing it. The faster you go and the more parallel you are the object the better you will slide. Ollie and turn your body BS 90 degrees. As you do this bring your front foot to the nose of you board. Once your foot is on the nose of your board place your front foot on the bit you intend to slide. The board will naturally follow you. It's easy. It's really, really easy. Just put your back foot on the tail, and lock the wheels into the coping. Then, put your front foot over the front bolts, and lean forward. I don't absolutely stomp my foot down, because you really don't need to. Just commit. It's that easy.
