ive been getting really good at my local skatepark ive got 'dropping in' down and grinds down.. But ive been watching allotta pro movies and im really curious... how do you get air on a half pipe my guess is its all about the speed you get before you go up the other side like i have bout 6-7 foot pool that i try out and i can never get air at all...all i get is a decent 50 50 or a rock and roll and if it is speed can i get and suggestions on some really good bearings? (better then speed demons) if so thanks yall good skating!!

learn to pump, i havent figured it out yet either but basically u crouch when ure in the middle of the pipe (i beleive its called the transition) and then stnad up when u reach the curved part, then as u go back down u croutch again, i dont how to actually do htis just the principal, anyway when uve mastered it like the pros u can gain tons of speed just from 2 or 3 pumps and then launch ureslef into the air

actually you sort of push up when your going up and when your just about to get to the middle you push backwards (if you come down fakie) If not push forward. The different hights effect how you pump.

for speed the best thing is pumping...when you go down a ramp push down with your legs on the transistion and youll feel it give you an extra boost and going up you kind of lift up...youll get a lot more speed but i only know how to air out to flat like out of a quarter pipe..not going back in thats psycho

yeah, basically what everyone is saying, you just need to pump. and your title sounds like a newspaper article lol. and you kinda eggaterated when you said getting really good, and that you can now drop-in, cause that is probably the most basic thing to do in the park, other than ride.

Pumping is pretty much using you legs to push the board into the ground. Observe some other skaters at the park and play around with what feels right to you; it's all about finding a way that feels good to you.

i don't see why people make big deals about dropping in. most of the people i know could do it after about two minutes. it took me about five minutes and i was ten. anyway, once you experiment a little, pumping should feel pretty natural. i think that it's the same principal that's behind pumping on a swing.
