Mongo style isn't a style it's your stance/pushing. It's terrible and you should never do it, with the exception of fakie/switch. Pushing mongo when you're goofy means your use your right foot to push, left foot on the board, and for regular, right foot on the board and left foot pushing. The foot on the board is usually near the tail/back bolts. You should never push mongo. Pushing mongo later on (when you get good) reduces your speed, looks terrible, flattens your dreams of becoming professional, and is much harder to connect your tricks.
Don't push mongo.

Pushing mongo is worse than making out with your fat hairy uncle.

Try to push mongo and you're gonna pay the price later.. because it will be harder to skate later or somethin'.. but yeah, it doesn't look good

It just takes longer to get into the position. IE, you have a 3 set with only about 2 yards of room to skate. You can't skate mongo and attempt the stair set. You have to move your tail, and reposition your front foot. Also, if you try running at it, It'll be even harder to land on it and reposition into a stance since you're so used to first pushing with your wrong foot.
Just go regular. Trust me, I've been skating for 6 years.

regular would be switch for me wouldnt it im not sure?
on some Tony Hawk vid it said if your Goofy Footed have your left foot on the board and push with your back foot so im guessing thats what i need to start doing right?

No if you're goofy, regular would be pushing with your left foot and putting your right foot on the front bolts (somewhere around there).
For regular, regular would be pushing with your right foot and putting your left foot on the front bolts.

when i started skating last year i was pushing mongo and then i heard what everyone said about it, i didnt think much of it and then i was going to attemt a four stair earlier this year and i only had about 1 and a half yards of room to start. i did it eventually but it was hard because i coudnt get into position in time and that persuaded me to swith to regular...and now im regular

look at the bright side, if you started skating mongo, and then started skating normal, you'll be able to skate switch without pushing mongo. if you get what i'm saying. but yeah, it's best not to push mongo.

i pushed mongo a month ago... and i had been skating for six months although i use4d to skate a couple years back and i always sakted mongo.. iw ent on here and found otu how bad it is and how ugly it looks.........and noticed how many things it does to make your skating worse and tried pushing normally (and im goofy ) and i did and my left ankle hurt really bad i couldnt push any more that way.cuz my leg jsut wasnt used to it but then iended up spraining that ankle....once it recovered and i skate normal now i catch my kickflips better ( dotn think its from mongo but w/e) i can get so much more speed and setup faster for gaps and stairs.) Try not to push mongooooo

your so right i skate mongo and since my leg has been messed up i havnt been skating for a week straight and its getting better now so i thought id see if i can skate normally on my mates board so i started to push and it was simple i reckon if i had my deck and a fully healed leg i would be able to push normally within a day or so ( my friends deck is so wobbley lol)

yea i agree with china skate.
i skated mongo
now im done with it and totally push normal
ive improved so much especially getting setup for something faster and i dont slip back as much cuz people who push mongo put their wait on the back more than there front foot so when i land things i have more of my weight forward so i dont slip out.

CONCLUSION
Mongo- Pushing with your front foot
- Looks HORRIBLE
- Gives you less time to set up for tricks.
- Doesn't center your balance above the board.
- Comes easier to some people than pushing regularly
- Have to start skating normally if you want to get somewhere in the skate industry.
- Pushing mongo in Switch stance is acceptable. Many pros do this.
Can take from 1 day to a few months to get out of this habit. ITS A VERY GOOD IDEA TO GET OUT OF IT. It will do you good.
P.S I am an "ex" mongo skater.
Done.
