Usb's are useless to Camcorders. firewire uploads footage from your camera into your computer.

basically if you upload your clips via firewire rather than usb the quality stays the same on the computer and when you view the clips on your camera. however, when you upload the clips via usb, it's possible the quality will differ(be worse) on the computer than on the camera.

no dookie... the quality DOES get worse..... The footage becomes completly choppy and like i said b4 useless
