Think about something else, say, women's breast, to take your mind off of ollieing the stairs. Ollie and before you know it, you're already rolling away, clean.

If you fall think quick and tuck and roll. Its hard to show you how you should fall because alot of the time you may not be able to contol how you fall.

its like what parachuters do so they dont break or injure their legs when they land. in other words when you bail as soon as your feet touch the floor start to crouch and turn it into a roll. this disperses the energy of the impact and makes it so it doesnt hurt as much.

when its 3 stairs i'd say thats a pretty unecessary idea to be honest. maybe when its more..

sto being so negative, why do yo have to say stuff like that. you should be engouraging him rather than saying shit like that. the place would be loads more happy if people like you weren't always like that.

if anyone can ollie then they are decent. it shows they know how to use a board and then they progress from there.

The bolts that you can see through your griptape are your biggest friends if you land on those it's just a matter of keeping you balance centered. Practice landing on the bolts.

Skill is not measured on how many stairs you can do, it's measured by control, style, and technique. My highest set is a 3, but I'd still class myself as a decent skater.

Just go for it man, I've got the same problem and I always pussy out. Even if your tail does hit the bottom step, you still roll away.

Get a couple of friends to stand around and make fun of you if you don't do the set/gap/ledge/whatever. This will make you angry, and you will then do it. Trust me, it works.

bailing is a part of skateboarding. tuck and roll. not stop and slam.

think posotive

dude, u gotta not worry about the bottom step, and just get speed. more than once ive actually had my back truck land on the bottom step, but if u just keep ur weight over ur board and land on the bolts ull b fine.

mostly

O ive just about mastered the tuck and roll, just when you fall off a rail on a set that tuck and roll thing cant really help, you just gotta curreen off the rail and hope to god you make it :p

but when Just ollieing sets man, tuck and roll is your best freind here, dont use your wrists or anything, just tuck riiiighhhttt iinnn

anyways, like Fire Freak said...Go Big or Go home, however, at least go home with ur brains in your head still, if you think somthing is beyond your skill level then DONT DO IT, its not worth busting that mellon that your parents worked so hard to make for ya ;)

and hell if it helps? wear a Helmet, if thats not good enough, wear padding? you might look like something scary, but hey, keeps you in one peice and gets rid of SOME of the fear, right?

anyways jsut suck it up and go for it, long as you are capable of the trick in question, dont think *aww pshh HAndrails are nothing, I know I can only ollie a deck, but this is simple*....big chance youll kill yourself, so think if you can at least do it, if you know ur capable then tell fear to shut up and just do it

Good advice from Stevo, and confidence is key, stay positive and you will be much more effective.

i was the same way bout two months ago then i figured out if i concentrate on the trick im doing not the number of stairs then i wont pussy out so if im olleing a 9 set or something i repeat the steps of an ollie in my head over and over like hit down slide up jump thats what i do and it works for me

What would happen if I pushed you from behind and you weren't expecting it? You would fall to the ground and put your hands out to brace your fall. The same thing will happen if you don't make the landing. Your instinct will be to brace the fall. And then you will get up and say, "What the ****, that didn't hurt."

Just give'r dude, you get hurt ten times more when you don't commit then when you do commit and fall.

hey dudes, today i did the 3 set again and i bailed only once on the first try and the rest i did no problem (excpet wen i didnt bend my knees and landed on the nose, but no problem) and i realized i had no fear of stairs like that it was amazing anyway thanks to those who actually tried to help Lesson Learned: it takes commitment to do somthing, and then time to get over it, and added correction to make perfect

I get happy when I fall. It tells me I'm close to landing a trick. Once you get used to falling, it gets a little easier.

^ That might help me too, I only move my front foot up, therefore when I land I go into a foole dup manual and lose my balance. I'll try it out.

i used to do that when i did 180s. didn't really make a difference till i started trying em down stairs. Had to learn to move my back foot over the trucks or else take same nasty falls
