"It's not a freak accident when a stingray stings someone. It's called a stingray... not a hug ray, or a kiss ray. It's not sitting at the bottom of the ocean thinking 'I wish an Australian with a cable show would come rub against me." - Bill Maher.

This thread is about animals. And animals is what it's about.

Talk about how you feel about hunting animals, what you think about veganism, etc.

_________________________

On the Daily Show last night there was a segment about a form of game hunting in which they would use sedating darts, instead of lethal bullets. So basically what they're doing is equivalent to hitting a cat with a bunch of rocks, and then leaving it.

p.s.: Sorry, when I said 'animals', I meant ones other than humans.

Talk about how you feel about hunting animals, what you think about veganism, etc. Anything.

I hunt them, kill them, eat them, whatever. I don't really care what happens to them except my dog. I don't mind vegetarians, I mean, some are cool, we even have one on this forum. As long as they aren't all "Peta rawks" and protest and that shit :-12:

i don't really mind hunting if you're gonna eat it, or at least give it to someone who will eat it. i don't really like the idea of game hunting just to kill something. i'm deffinetly not a vegetarian, i'm almost a carnivore, love meat and i eat tons of it. personally i couldn't give up bacon, steak or prime rib, they're just too damn good.

PETA.........People Eating Tasty Animals.

I eat everything. I was a vegan when I was young just cause my mom and dad were. But I'm also a lover of red meat, poultry and fish. I do love veggies and anything else edible. I'll admitt it, I'm a freakin' pig.

I don't support when kids torture animals and laugh at it, I hate that infact. But sure if you are hunting for food and will eat the animal then it's all good, but when you start boasting about it then it goes from right to wrong when they turn it into a sport.

It's your choice if you don't want to eat meat but I don't want to hear veggie stories about how you can't wait until tonight because you are going to cook the BEST veggie meal, and all your veggie friends are coming over, then I have a problem, because I don't care.

I chose to respond to this because Vegetarians and Vegans whatever, are kinda like my pet peeves, but if they stay quiet and eat their veggie soy burgers in silence I don't mind them.

I like chicken. I like fish, too. I can't eat anything off of a bone though. I don't know why. I just hate touching bones. I tried eating fish meat off of the bones a few days ago, and I almost puked when I licked its ribs. It's like... I remember catching that fish. And I remember that it was a nasty gross fish, and now I'm eating it... ew.

Huntings kool... only if you going to take what you shot home... but shooting animals just for fun and leaving them there is dumb... but hunting pest and leaving them there is ok i think, like rabbits and possums..

but yeah i got like 2 vegiterians in my geography class... and the stuff they say about not killing animals is so annoying... but if they shut up about it then there ok lol...

Im a fussy eater so i dont eat "all meats" depends how its cooked... i like my stake really well done and i dont like chicken with stuff like cheese or crap stuffed in it.. or in soups or pies.. yuck lol... chicken by its self is good or in burgers and stuff, and i dont like lamb... but yeah thats cause im a fussy eater.. not because i care about the animal...

I'm vegitarian. I'm sorry you hate without knowing me, periL. I hate some vegetarians and vegans, too, but not because they are vegetarian or vegan. Don't judge people like that. I'm been veggie for long than some of you have been skating, yet have any of you heard me advocate vegetarianism to you? Nope. Just like it's my choice to not eat meat, it's yours to continue to do so, and I acknowledge that. To each his own, as I've always been the first to say.

Now, hunting. For substinence, I'm okay with, but I don't agree with sport hunting. Killing for fun? Doesn't anyone realize how brutal that is? How contradictory it is to the idea of progress?

im kinda uneducated in this matter, but can the body really function properly without meat in our system...

and i have no problem with vegetarians unless, like snaker said, they dont try to ram it down your throat, or making you feel like assholes for eating helpless animals. which is why i hate PETA (pamela anderson not included)

It's natural to hunt for food. I love a nice bacon buttie. It's not fair to kill Elephants for their tusks, though. If you kill it, kill it 'cos you are going to eat it.

And, even as a vegitarian, I hate PETA, too. They're hypocritical. They kill many animals:

Agreed

I was raised with meat being fed to me at every meal. I am ok with veganterians. I even have a girl who is my friend and she doesnt like meat. Not because its mean or anything just because she thinks its nasty eating meat. Ya but if you beat animals or kill them and not even eat them then thats wrong. I believe thats illegal in most states too. If you kill it you have to eat it or use it.

I've been thinking lately about going vegatarian...I dont think I could do it though. As for hunting, everyone hunts around here because everyone is a hick, I hate hunting it's pointless to go out in the woods and hope for a defenseless animal have the misfortune to cross my path and have me kill it...LAME.

I like to call it nature. Killing animals weaker than you has been going on a long time. Its a way of survival. Take lions of instance... They kill to protect and feed thier cubs.

I was raised to go fish and if you catch a little one then let it back in and let it grow bigger. If you catch a big one then its food....

I once caught a fish that was "too small", and I ****ed up it's eye when I was yanking the hook out of its head. I threw it back.

Kept fishing, and caught a fish with one eye and blood in its mouth. (for you tards out there, it was the same fish)

I will never catch and release again. It's a waist of my time.

You need to eat a well balanced meal to be vegen. Which means alot of nuts to replace the protein in meat. I THINK not totally sure.

Nuts and potatoes rule. And so does meat. I couldn't ever become a vegan or something just cause I like meat too much. And as has been said loads of times before hunting as a sport is a bad thing in my book.
I've never hunted before but I suppose if I would be needing to get myself a nice meal that evening I would do it. Fishing on the other hand I hate cause I just don't like the idea of putting a hook through somethings mouth and it still being alive when yanking it out of the water...diner or not. But that's not really a moral thing, I just don't like the idea of doing that though i'm fine with other people doing it.

I used to always say that I couldn't be vegetarian because I like meat too much. But the truth is, once you try and stop eating it, you don't miss it too much.

And, for the protein thing. Why do you think vegetarians eat so much soy stuff and tofu? We don't eat it to be stereotypical, but because soy has ridiculous amounts of protein in it.

I'm against cruelly treating animals (who isn't?), but some of the stuff PETA says is total shit. They protest the March of Dimes!!! WTF? Helping premature babies get a better chance at life = animal cruelty? What the hell. Vegan: Absolutely no meat, no animals products, so NO milk, eggs, etc.

My older sister, who's 20, is a vegan. She takes the cheese off of pizza and eats it, she doesn't care if it's been touched by cheese. She once helped clean out the fridge and touched a bunch of meat.

So I guess not all vegans are crazy about whether or not they come in contact with non-vegan foods.

The problem with going Veggie is that it's actually not healthy to go back. Your body adapts to the food you eat so if you eat meat again it's not sued to it.

Snaker
09-20-2006, 03:13 AM
That's all in the mind. Your body needs what it needs, which is protien. A good vegitarian gets the same amount of protien as meat eaters, so if I were to go back to meat, I'd physically be able to handle it. Thing is, a lot of veggies despise meat, so the fact that they think it's gross makes them get sick.
