That's cool. I love the feeling of getting a new board, it's just great. To get in the air, you can:
-Ollie
-Nollie
-Fakie Ollie
-Pressure Ollie
-Boneless
-Beanplant
-Bomb drop
-Go off a curb
-Go off a kicker
-Air a vert

So you're getting the board from a friend or something? I would get my own new deck if I were you.

A few un-organized hints:
1. Check for pressure cracks, especially around the hardware.
2. DON'T GET IT WET!
3. Don't skate on very rocky surface.
4. Don't scrape your tail or nose on the ground often.
5. Read any/all threads in the beginners and trick tips section if they even slightly apply to you.
6. DON'T EVER PRESSURE YOUR BOARD! If you get angry because you can't do something, remember it's not the board's fault, chances are if you can't ollie the board in 30 mins, I can 3 flip a random drop in 3 mins on the deck. It takes LOTS of practice, someday you'll work on kickflips, and think "I hate these, I can't do them!", and a year or two later you'll be cruising to your skatepark kickflipping at 25 MPH down a hill like it's nothing.
Wow, that was long (#6).

Not a whole lot to the board, just gets the bearings dirty. Actually, I don't think it would do anything, except your cuts when a rock jams in between your truck.

^Yes rocky surfaces bad and u will most likely end up face first on the ground if u go through them
