For street skateboarding i dont know whether to get Jessup or Mob Griptape?
is there a difference? is one more popular? which one should i get?

Jessup- Good.

Mob- Kills Shoes.

Black Magic > everything. Jessup feels like no grip (to me) but with black magic there is so much grip.

It doesn't kill my shoes. and if your shoes rip, put on some shoe goo.. problem solved. Take it from someone who's been skating for 5 years+.

I think Black Magic and Mob are too grippy. I like Jessup though.

Jessups my favorite, just see if any of your friends have different types of griptape to see which one you like best.

Just go with good ol' jessup. You seriously can't go wrong with it.


fo sho.. mob once is my favorite but i notice that it loses the grip and f***s up the skating, it also got messed up fast. not like jessup, it still has grip even if you use it for a long time

I always find Black Magic to be overkill. Any grip is fine it doesn't really make a difference.

jessup feels like no grip to me. I just got a new deck with Mob grip and it f*cks up my shoes more than any other grip. But my fav is deff black magic!

I'm with vansokc: Fly paper is good stuff. I just bought a new complete 3 weeks ago with Jessup tape, and I don't much care for it after a few sessions. I like tape that eats shoes, but then again, I'm not street skating but old skooling ramps. Not that the Jessup is bad, but I like something with more grit. If I were ollieing and kickflipping like crazy, then I'd be bummed some gritty tape, too. I just want my feet to stay put. I seriously am ready to strip this tape off my deck and replace it with fly paper.

u sure? i just got a used complete off a friend and its like, element everything.

teh element griptapes really thick and coarse compared to my jessup

yeah its jessup.its kinda hard to explain but here i go element & destructo(which makes jessup) are both from Giant.they may use a different technique
to make them. But have you ever noticed that destructo trucks & element trucks look the same???

yea ur right, they do look alike, and the desciption says "Finally Element Skateboards has come out with some Skateboard Trucks. They are awesome and just like Destructo's.


o and btw, where can i order some of this flypaper griptape?

Flypaper is great stuff but I think I like Edger better. Has a little more grip and lasts a little longer.

black magic rulez. it wont blow out b4 ur bord duz like a ton of other grip, and it's grippy without being 2 grippy and messin up ur shoez.i've had mine 4 a long,long time & its barely peeling.it hasnt lost grip much, either. but good grip mostly depends on wut sk8ing u do and ur budget.
