If you're just starting, it'll probably last a couple of months, depending on what you do to it, and your financial situation. As you progress, decks will get broken, or wear down quicker.

A board could last for ever.
And i know you didnt mean that, im just pointing out that you didnt give much detail in the question.

What your talking about is the Pop of the board. Which is basically how springy/hard the board is. If you treat it well and dont get it wet or anything like that then it should be really good for about 2 months. Then it'll start to get harder to spring up and get as high with your ollies.

Theres also Razor tail.
That is when the front and back of your board.(Nose and Tail). gets worn down and gets "sharp". It gets smoother and damages the wood resulting in less pop.

If your woried about your board snapping, it wont. If your practising ollies and not doing 7' drops or 15 sets. and always landing on the bolts. your board wont snap.

Hope this clears it up.

A board will last me a year easily, if not longer. But keep in mind that I'm not street skating and smacking ollies, noseslides, nollies, talislides, bluntslides, etc. I skate the ramp only and skate the street course to get over to the ramp. I probably couldn't ollie these days, nor will I try to. The only time my tail scrapes is when I push my board to the coping to drop in.

But, back in the day, when I street skated like a madman, a deck would last me a couple of months tops before the tail was shot. Wallrides are murder on a deck's tail! IMO street skating is more harsh on a deck than ramp/pool skatiing. If you street skate and your deck is getting soggy, lacks pop and has the tail worn down to a few plys and is overall inhibiting your riding, get yourself a new skate.
