After a two year absence from skating, I decided to start again. I am only using my board for transportation purposes on campus. But I can only cruise down half a block before my feet start hurting so bad that I have to get off my board and walk it off for five minutes. I am using Vans when I skate. I don't know the model name, but it closely resembles Old Skools. I also noticed that some of my toes are particularly painful with bloody nails on my pushing foot. What could be causing this pain? Is it my shoes? Is it how I stand on my board? Or is this just normal and the pain will go away the more I skate?

It sounds like your shoes are too tight and your toes/feet are being irritated when you push. But if I'm way off then just keep at it, your muscles probably aren't used to it yet again.

I think its your shoes.

The law is to get a skateshoe a size or half a size larger then what you are wearing. The paddings and the design is a weebit diffrent than some thin walled shoes and adds a few mm's.

yea, and get something padded, like es accel pluses, cause the concave makes your feet get sore after a while, and padding helps alot, also if you are just cruising around, make sure ur feet are on the bolts, thats usually the most comfortable position.

im gonna agree that it sounds like ur shoes are to small

espically if ur bleeding from your toenails >_<

also dont tie ur shoes to tight, its good for your feet to breath while ur skating and to be able to move a round a bit

i currently have a pair of globes focus skulls

there very comfortable although the downside is the fabric isnt so tuff but then again what shoe ever last against grip tape haha
