View Full Version : Pay Attention At the Skatepark

Yesterday, at the skatepark, there was some dudes on bikes cruising around. I have nothing against freestyle bikers, rollerbladers, etc., UNTIL they get in my way/fail to pay attention. Here I am acid dropping in to a 1/4 pipe at the park and some clueless kid rides his bike right into my landing spot. I looked before I lept off the ramp, but he came out of nowhere. To prevent a major wreck into a kid who was 1/3rd my weight, I jumped off my board right when I left the coping. I scrubbed the pavement, knee pads slipped off and rolled across the pavement. The kid was apologetic, and I'm typically pretty mellow, but I scrubbed hard. This park prohibits bikes on the terrain and I told him if he EVER does that to me again, I will throw his bike over the fence. I was more worried about hurting the kid than me, though my knees are killing me today.
Keep an eye out, everybody!

Our recently deceased skatepark (town decided to put a swimming pool in where are park is) allowed bikers and it sucked. They always got in the way, especially the ****ing n00bs on there mountain bikes.
The one they are putting in Halifax (see siggy) is going to allow bikers and it sucks. At the old one bikers would come and take over the bowl, just leaving the ****ing 2 way and 1/4 pipes, it was retarded. The bowl makes the ****ing park. Now that the new is going to have a couple of bowls, I expect more bikers to appear. ****.

It seems alot of ppl dont pay attention at the skatepark. Generally lil kids always go RIGHT infront of me. but nothing we can do really just tell them to watch out or w/e

This is why I like to skate while all the kids are asleep.

The only way they'll really learn to move, is to hit them.

I hate it when parents bring thier kids over and let them slide down the ramps like a slide and then just keep doing it when we are trying to skate. By the way the kiddy park is across the street.

When my skatepark was in its original spot, kids would flock over and play on our ramps. Defyed all logic, brand new playground (which had more money put in itthen the skatepark ever had) or old ramp with rusty screws... ya, rusty screws just have so much appeal, unlike a massive jungle jim.
You know how I would get them out? I would tell them they would get aids if they played on the ramps. Worked everytime, and was funny as shit.

A bunch of kids come into the skatepark and play tag in the bowl. They always were in the way no matter how much you tell them to move or leave.

Ya people are always getting in my way, mostly little kids. For some reason like 50 grade 9's started just loafting at the park and only 3 of them skate, they get in peoples way all the time while they run up and down the ramps and act like fags, and have no respect for anyone. the throw bottles of pop or water up and they land on the ground and explode. But by far the worst thing is when families come and just sit there while the little kids play and run around, if you tell them they shouldn't be there they say "they have as much right to be here as you do" the worst was when this family came and had like a picnic on the ledges.

Theres a baseball feild right next to my park and every time a game is over all the 9 year olds run around like they own it,and all the mom and dads just sit there because they think skaters are gay and they have nothing else to do.

I hate Bikers and the damn scooters.I went to my local park yesterday and some dude was going around on his bike yelling at kids and throwing ice. Then my friend went up a quarter pipe and he rode up beside him and said,"Get out of the damn way!Learn how to skate before you come back here you freaking *****!" It pissed me off.He was being a douche to everybody.

You know, there is some truth to this approach. However, I weigh a bit over 200, so any little kid I collide with is gonna literally be down for the count. I don't even wanna imagine some kid's mom or dad yelling at me, even though it wasn't necessarily my fault, ya know what I mean?

there was a similar thread like this, and this is basically quote myself without the fancy quote box:
ive had a few minor skatepark accidents. one time i was riding down like a 6 foot high bank, maybe like 10 feet long, used for speed, but some people have jumped it, and one kid actually fs flipped it.. anyway, i am riding down, and some careless kid isnt even looking and i smacked right into him, he had a bike actually, and that gave me a swollen pinky for about a week or two, and then the same day, i was playing a game of ledge skate, so i set a front 180, and once i land, a blader had been dropping in on this 7 foot qp, and as i took impact he smacked right into the back side of me. if someone took a picture of it exactly as he hit me, it would probably look like we're having butt sex. but i realized it kinda was my fault, because there was a croud of kids waiting to set something, and the kid thought it was clear, because he cant tell if one of us is going.
FIGHT!

I like to verbally abuse them until they have no self-esteem left and go home, never to return.
I know exactly how you feel!

The thing that hurts to see to is that alot of little kids like 9 years old trying to bum ciggaretes of people. Not really the best place to leave you children.

Dude, that is so annoying... my park doesnt allow bikes either.. and I hate how they totally get STUPID and get in everyones way. I got hit by some idiot on a bike when I was doing a nose stall, and he made me scrap the ground pretty bad. I was so mad! no joke. He apollogized too, but I totally ignored it and told him to find another place to ride. geeze, ppl just ride where your suposed to. (no offense to bmx freestylers) :-12:

Haha, ya. I tell the little kids that they get AIDS and Tetanus when they play on the ramps. Then I blow my cigarette in their face.
Next time they try to bum a cigarette off you, put it out on their forehead. You can't get in trouble, cause what are they going to be like, "Mom, I was bumming a cigarette of a kid and he put it out on my head."
Just joking, though it would be funny.
