At our school, first period is fifteen minutes long and you just sit in a room with kids with last names aphabetically similar to your own. They call it advisory. A few weeks ago we had to sign up for a "special advisory". They would lengthen advisory to 30 minutes and we'd get to do an activity. The skateboarding one said "Learn to skate like Tony Hawk!" but I put it down anyway just because that's what I love to do. I was suprised. There's actually a concrete balcony above the gym and we get to bring our boards in the morning and skate. They have the gay little steppers that you climb in gym class, except you get to skate them. We've bene stacking them up high, lengthwise, like inclines. Whatever we want. It's really fun. My skate team has the elite of all skaters in our grade(including me!) and we all got in and basically own the place. Sometimes the suckier kids take a stab at the little runs we set up, but mostly they just stand in a corner, look cool, and try to learn to ollie. It kicked so much ass monday that I came straight to class and skated for like 15 minutes before school even technically started. Today some kid brought in a piece of plywood nailed to a 2 by 4 that actually kinda worked as a kicker. Helped me ollie over 8 of the little steppers(a little above where your ribs start height this morning. Oh, and two days ago I was doing tricks over a double stack stepper and this one kid with "Tony Hawk Underground" written on his deck asked me how I "do that thing where I get over the boxes". I told him he might wanna get some griptape first and nose manualed away. It's sad that kids like that got into the class because I know friends who would love to skate in the morning but got stuck with other activities because this class was full. The worst is the girls that just sit and watch the "hawt skaterzzz". So yeah, excuse the lack of organization in this post, I'm just really excited.

Oh God, you are so lucky. I brought my skateboard to school on the last day of school and rid down the hallway. It was hilarious. Anywho, if the girls are hot, I suggest you stop complaining and start impressing XDD

Girls always go for looks over actual skill. But I've been told I fill my tight pants rather nicely and I started skating to get girls anyway, so I've been working on it.

sorry to say this man, but.................

......your the definition of a *****. THIS IS WHERE THIS SHIT STARTED

why u might ask......... *****s skate to be cool, for girls, or to show off. You fall in the line of doing it for the girls, therefore you are a ***** cause u dont skate for fun.
Thx for showing an example of a *****.

Thats so sweet man. My school might be building a skatepark for us, like a real one 50,000$ budget because people keep getting arrested for skating the school. It's 'illegal' now
Dude he skates because he loves it. I'm sure its not just for the girls but im sure when ever a guy skater sees a girl he trys to impress.

You know, Shorty's, it doesn't matter who is a "poseur" and who isn't... if he loves to skate, that's all that matters.

And it's possible to start skating to get girls but end up doing it for other reasons later on, such as loving it. Hah.

what happened to this site? this used to be one of the more gnarly web sites where you could go and post on some good threads related to skateboarding, but now all you talk about who's posing and who isn't. i don't even know why you all care so much, your never going to meet these dudes your dissing anyways.

back to topic, it's manditory to take intro to p.e. in high school so me and a couple buddies just go cut and skate in the auxillary gym. benches and yoga steppers(manual pads) with lines galore. were filming tommorow. i've got a backside flip over the aerobics stepper, half cab manny the next one, and then front nose 270 out on the bench.

boo ya!
i'm sure many of you are happy that i have returned.

Ok so i'm pretty much new to it because i just decided that i want to be able to have more fun then just rideing around on a skateboard so i'm jumping on it and i'm going to force myself to work everyday to get better untill the day die my insperation is my friend Derek, he has his own skate team with most of my friends on it and the next time i am invited to go skating with them i want to be able to do more then stand around on my board. In the skating advisory that we have been having i have been trying to get better, and after school i get to work right away, if it rains i go down into the basement and work on my own for a good hour and a half just so i can prove to myself that i can do this, i'm not only doing it for myself i'm doing it also to have fun and prove to people that i can do it.

That's cool. Skateboarding is easy though. Just give it a few years of good practice and trust me, everything will fall into place. The names of the tricks and skaters, your style on your board and off, and how you want to represent yourself.
