Where are all the black/other race skateboarders (like myself)

Ok I know skateboarding is a white dominated sport right. but do u think skateboard culture is scaring away other races? I mean im black but i like skateboarding for well... skateboarding..not the whole "SK8 OR DIE!!!! AHHHHHH *Slit* SKATE ON DUDES AHHHHHHHHH *Slit*." Plus I can only think of 2 pro black skateboarders. 1 doesnt even skate that much anymore. Kareem Campbell. and Stevie Williams.

Not saying thats all skateboarders but a huge portion of skateboarders are.
Whats u guys think? Is it a exclusive club. Or more people should join in.

some of the best skateboarders, and witht the best style in my opinion, are the brazilians, i mean it seems as if they never bail, its insane. but yeah it is mostly lead by white people, but theres no reason for that. And there is skateboarding in other countries, its not the united states.

Who cares? If somebody wants to skate they'll skate. I've never seen any racial descrimination in skateboarding.

Skateboarding in itself is color blind. It's up to the individual to decide whether skating is for them or not. I don't see any racial issues in skating.

im just saying the ethnic difference but brazillians are good. at mostly any sport they actually want to try. take football/soccor its the national sport and they can beat every one of us in it. even if its ten 16 yr olds vs one 12 yr old

Some of the best skaters here where I live are black.
Just to state a few.

Brazilians:
Bob B.
Rodrigo TX
etc.. alot, the old firm team was 85% brazilian.

Asians:
Hiro Nakagawa
Jimmy Cao
JERRY HSU
etc.

There are sooo many diffrent races in skateboarding. Like skaterat said, its color blind. Pretty much a giant race in itself.

hahaha, i'm very proud of my skater culture.

i understand where your comming from tho, skateboarding does seem to be white dominant, but when you look a little more closely it is pretty diverse. its not like other sports like basketball where theres a ton of african americans and then just a few of other races. skateboarding has a huge variety of races and cultures from all over the world. and don't look at it just has not having that many black skaters, don't forget to look at the rest of the cultures, artos from finland, theres tons of brazilian skaters, asian skaters, european skaters, skaters are found almost anywhere. actually of the group of skaters i normally skate with two are white, one phillipino, one chinese and the other is black so its pretty diverse.

but really it doesn't matter, it doesn't even cross my mind when i meet someone skating. actually i try to be pretty open to everyone in all aspects of my life because it really just doesn't matter, theres good and bad people in every race. also with skateboarding you don't have to be 6' 7" be able to jump super high or run super fast or anything, anyone can be good at skating. geoff rowely is short and andrew reynolds is tall, not like either one is that much better than the other.

look at the Zoo York team, most of them are black, but that doesnt matter, the whole team has a certain street skate style that i havent seen in any other team

in the u.s. the majority of skaters are probably white because the majority of people in the u.s. are white.

so the percent of black skaters to white skaters is probably close to the percent of all blacks to all whites.
