''pop'' is in your head. Your board will be fine. Just scrape it down a bit on edge so it dosn't chip away.

When your tail gets thin you get nasty "razor tail" and that could end up hurting you. I don't think if effects your pop though.

nah i can tell the difference between pop and no pop. no pop is when you can no longer get a heelflip in the air with the nose or tail, depending on what you skate normally, but you can get it in the air with the opposite side that you skate.

the board deffinetly starts to lose its pop when the tail gets worn down, if you think about it, it changes the timing of your ollie. the tail has to travel farther to hit the ground, therefore you have to try harder to get that to happen. now it being worn down somewhat isn't a super bad thing, its not going to effect it that much, but if its worn down a ton then getting a new deck is probably a pretty good choice, but its not like you can't skate if you don't get a new one. how do you like the warbird by the way?

lol edward, its gotta travel a further distance? ya like half a centemeter. I wouldnt worry about it, razor tails not that big a deal, except that popsicling hurts like hell though

My boards tail is super razor sharp. Even so I acually can ollie higher than I could when it wasn't razr. So in a way it kinda helps.

it still makes a difference, that added in with the board being used over time to make it more flexible makes it lose its pop. and ever notice the difference in angles the board makes from new to old deck? take two boards, one with a new deck and one with an old worn out deck, the old deck deffinetly has a noticeably different angle more towards straight up when you put them on the ground and have the tail touching the ground with the nose up in the air. everything makes a difference, think about the difference between a 7.5 deck and a 7.75 deck, the difference seems to be huge and easily noticeable, but when you think about it its really only a 1/4 of an inch.

Whene my deck gets like that the tail usually breaks and then I have to get a new board.

o yeah I get that Ed, a new deck is just stiffer as well, I thought u ment that when a tail gets shaved up, theres less of it, liek the bottom of it desintigrated, but yeah I get it now

The more you skate it, the tail is going to get smaller and smaller.

warbirds have a good pop the second day i had it i landed ma first kflip. Fight might not be well known but the decks r sik.
As for razor tail i notcied it reduced ma pop, razor tail also can lead to the ends of your tail chipping off which is painful to c, when u have to take the little scraps of wood off

ya another bad thing to happen to your board is nose lift *cries liek when it smashes into a croncrete wall or somthing

Your board will lose its "pop" on the tail or nose when either section get majorly chipped, or even worse, start to delaminate (when the plys start to separate). IMO, if you've got a "razor tail," it shouldn't neccesarily effect your skate's pop.

However, if you've got a razor tail, you bail a trick and shoot your board out to curb torpedo right at a wall tail first, the result may be a loss of pop. ;)
