I got a microphone (a very good one that I stole), hooked it up through an overdrive pedal (SlimJim_junkie's, for his guitar) into an amp, and played my harmonica on it. It's amazing. I played some of the advanced songs I know that include a lot of bends and fast notes. It's great. Try it.

Also, if you're a really good harp player and you can do an overblow on the 4 hole, try that and kinda find the medium between blow 4 and overblow 4; it sounds really dirty and grungy. I like it.

Any type of vocal sounds through overdrives are fun. Also, distorting acoustic/electric guitars are, too. But, harmonica through an overdrive? Dude, we gotta try that. One of my band's vocalists, Ryan, plays harmonica, and damn well, I might add. I'll have him try it, including blow/overblow 4 technique. Do you use any particular key of harmonica? We have a set of multiple harps with all the keys possible.

Snaker, I have C and G Special 20's. The half-overblow 4 is really just a result of poor air control. I do my overblows on my C, because I regapped the reeds on that one to make overblows easier.

Harp players like playing distorted, but using the overdrive pedal means that you don't have to crank the amp up to 11 and make your ears explode.
