Um, no.

WMM sucks.

All programs have how to guides and such.

Get either Adobe After Effects or Sony Vegas; RR has its own Sony Vegas FAQ on the website.

after effects is special effects and motion graphics not video editing! dont tell me it isnt video editing because if i wanted to i could open up maya, make a 3d model with a skeleton inside, animate it, take it to after effects and make a scene to go along with the animation. Special effects and motion graphics compared to video editting is very very different.

Yes but the key word is the original post was NEW witch implies he doesn’t have much experience in video editing. The main problem with Vegas is the £300 price tag (when i brought it, don’t know what it is now) which i cant imagine someone that is new to editing would want to fork out, i mean he might get bored with it after a couple of days and then it would be a waste of money. If he decided that he likes it and wants to advance then it might be worth the money. The only way he could get it for free is illegally and since you don’t recommend that.........

the consumer version of sony vegas is $100, its easy and the same as vegas, minus a couple filters, fx

Try Apple's iMovie, or Final Cut Express for low budget

or

Avid's "Free DV" for a well-rounded free prosumer post-production app.....

It can be downloaded free (and legaly too) here.......
