Hey snaker. Thank you for adding these. Because as you know, people are more prone to read the first post (your's) than the other ones.

Snaker
11-17-2006, 01:48 AM
That's the thought man. I just hope some members are checking out some of the bands we post. Because, due to my love of music, I'm putting aside personal tastes to put down bands that others may enjoy, even if I don't.

I'll try to get links to them. If people can post links for the new bands they add, it would help me, but it's not neccissary.

Anything by the "Whites Stripes" is steller

the white stripes were a simplist rock band meaning they play simple rocknrolll songs, duh.

Some of their song are really well know: Seventh Nation Army, Blue Orchid, Fell in Love with a Girl, Hardest Button to Button, Dead Leaves and a Dirty Ground

jack and meg arent in the band anymore but they left a butload of good songs behind for the world.

They are under an indedepentent record label, thus making them indie.

Scandanavian Heavy/Death Metal: Opeth, Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom, Sanctaty, Gojira.

Yeah, we used to play like four shows a month, all over northern California, usually with some touring band or another. We used to have a count of the number of shows we'd played, but we stopped around 175. The show with the Havoc was a fest in Woodland of all the best CA punk bands, including the Havoc and Resilience, and some big hardcore bands, like Allegiance and Whiskey Rebels.

Sooo many different genres, wow.

There are so many unsigned artists that are so good. It annoys me that record companies overlook so much talent. Go to a site like Triple J Unearthed or even Myspace, and you'll find so many artists that are awesome.

Jake Newton and William Fitzsimmons are good examples.

brian jonestown massacre, i've been checking them out and i like what i hear.
ratatat has really fresh electronica-mixboard stuff, especially "wildcat" and "loud pipes."
elliott smith is great, r.i.p.
the shins have something for everyone, i recommend "know your onion!"
cass mccombs has had some songs in skate videos, "sacred heart" in a jerry hsu part from some older video and "what isn't nature" in jason dill's part in skate more. it's different, but you should check it out.

wolf parade, canadian indie. it's always good.

For the poppy Greenday fans on board here, check out:

Descendents who were generating catchy tunes before Greenday was even a blip on the radar. Start with the release Everything Sucks and go fakie.

ALL, which is who Descendents evolved into. Start with the release Allroy Sez and go forward

Big Drill Car. Start with Small Block or CD Type Thing

Doughboys. Either of their releases Happy Accidents or Crush.
