what exactly is snowskating?
Skateboarding on snow. It's a deck, wooden or plastic, without trucks or wheels. Just a plain deck, made for snow. Generally a bit bigger than a skateboard, with a sponge-like griptape that doesn't wear easily.
and its FUN!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, YOU DON'T NEED A HILL TO SNOWSKATE.
Find a set. Lay the board infront of it. Run, hop onto the board, and kickflip that shit.

it look fun, but here where i live we get alot of that fluffy snow, so you'd just fall righ on through to the ground, and fly off of the board into the snow, and get snow all over your face, and then your cold...or maybe you'd faceplant into the concrete....

Here's one tip. DON'T USE SKATESHOES! Skateshoes seriously don't have enough grip to stick to the gripfoam. They have grip enough for the tape, but not for the foam because when the foam gets wet it gets a bit slippery and you need shoes with some heavy duty grip!! Use snow boots that have ALOT of grip. I have a pair of Ice Fields that are perfect. Good up to -100 and a lot of grip on the bottom. Keeps my feet warm, and I don't fall off the board.
If it doesn't get cold enough to wear snowboots, then chances are there won't be enough snow to snowskate and you'll be able to skateboard through the winter anyway.
Anyways, good luck and have fun! :-41:
