Windows Editing software

i need to know what editing software i should get. i have moviemaker but i hate it. i cant do anything with it. IT SUX!! im lookin to be able to upload my music and start the music at a certain part of the song, be able to make pages with names and pics that will fade, and easily edit clips.

i use vegas 6.0. Its good but is quite pricey.

I got vegas 6.0 but there's one prob, its always reuiring me to download all these plug-ins so i just stopped using it!

Maybe that was a bad decisin matter-of-fact i'll open vegas now an ge the creative juices flowing again.

everthing that is edinting like photeshop,flash,animations,anything with adobe in the title is all expensive lol
