Yo, new to the forums. Firstly, glad to be a member and hope to read some interesting and just fun threads.
Anyway, I was practicing some tricks in my backyard. The only paved area I have is right next to the pool. So, I was trying to land something and my skateboard kinda... got away from me. It went into the pool and it took about 20 seconds to get out. Is this like... really bad? Is my board screwed or are there steps I can take to salvage it? Hasty replies get my gratitude.
Thanks!

Well you tell us if you can still ride it, maybe you got lucky and nothing happened just try it out.

Welcome to Ramprage.
I'm not sure about your board. Is it soggy? You'll really just have to try it out and see.

well i dont know if it would hurt the griptape, cuz it didnt hurt mine when i left it in the sprinklers for a half-hour, yea it was an accident. but the board itself didnt appear soggy or damaged in anysort of way, maybe a little bit bendy-er, if thats a word. so it depends if you can still ride it.

I dried it as soon as I got it out of the water. I dismantled it and made sure it was dry under the trucks, inside the wheels, and all that. It seems OK, not water logged or anything. I rode it a little bit after and it seemed fine, I was just curious if there would be any latent damage that would surface after some time.
Thanks, guys.

As long as it wasn't emerged in the water for more than a minute (and you dried it off), it should be fine.

Mine rolled into some murky water about a month ago and stayed there a good two minutes and everythings fine. Except the bearings, which i had to replaced.

What about the bearings? I'm sure you'll have to replace them.

When my board got pushed into the pool, I had to strip the grip, but that was the only part I lost. Pretty much I sprayed a teflon spray thing on my bearings to get the water out, and then put some speed cream in 'em to get them going. I put my deck next to a fan, dried off my trucks, the wheels you don't gotta worry 'bout. Hardware needs to be dried to. Just make sure you get all the metal dried ASAP, and make sure you get the water out of the bearings. =)

Just watch the bearings, they could rust easily, but honestly if you dismantled and dried it the best you could, it should be fine.......no promises, i've seen this situation go both ways.
